// okay before i start, i srsly wanna thank those people, especially two of my readers who i think are my friends now, for supporting me in writing this story.

anyway, enjoy! //

Where is he?

My eyes flew back and forth between my phone and the cafe's door. The half empty glass of bubble tea sat on the table in front of me, the chair empty. My phone vibrated and I lifted it up.

KayKay🙉 : is he there yet????

Clauuu🦇 : no he's not, i've been waiting for the past 30 mins!!

I sighed as I entered the message and sent it to Kaylie. She was the only one I told, I didn't let the rest of the gang know until I was sure that my brother and I are in good terms.

My hands were cold, and my knee bounced anxiously. I gripped my phone in hand. Maybe he didn't see my message? I, once again, read the text I sent the number. He didn't reply. Maybe he did read it, but he doesn't plan on showing up. After all, he did run away when he saw me.

I heaved another sigh in disappointment. I took my bag and prepared to leave.

That was until a guy, a muscular one at that, came dashing at the cafe. His eyes searched every corner and then, they landed at me. He was panting, seems like he ran to get here.

I immediately sit back down and composed myself. I need to calm down.

Just calm down.

I took a deep breath as the guy sat in front of me. He wore a white t- shirt with jeans. Simple outfit. His hair was tossled carelessy and his lips were a bit swollen. I laughed internally. Seems like someone had a great time.

Before I could speak, he immediately rambled.

"Hey, I'm really sorry, you see I had something to do and I completely forgot I was supposed to be meeting up with you, and then, traffic! God damned traffic, I'm so sorry to keep you waiting, I had to drop a friend at his house but- yeah, I think I should just be apologizing instead of making excu-"

I laugh bubbles in my throat.

Well, sorry! I couldn't help it!

"What?" He says looking at me, eyes wide as he catched his breath.

"Oh, it's okay. You don't have to apologize," I say, waving my hands in the air as I grinned him.

He sits in front of me in an awkward manner, even though the first time I saw him, I was intimidated, but now... not so much. He's an awkward guy, very ramble-y for some reasons.

"Uh, yeah," he says, scratching his neck. We both sat, not knowing what to say, or how to initiate a conversation.

About a minute of silence, he whispers a small, "fuck it," under his breath and looked up at me.

"I-I'm Christopher Xin, Chris for short," he says, offering me a hand. I hesitated at first but eventually shook his hand, as I too, introduced myself.

"Claudette Xin," I say, keeping the introduction short. I pulled away and leaned back into the seat. Christopher looked like he's calm now.

"Anything you'd like to eat?" I ask as I pushed the menu towards him. His eyes flickered to me for a moment, and then at the menu.

"No thanks. I already ate before I left," he says quietly.

"What'd you eat, something or someone?"  I holler loudly that made other people stare at us. I immediately covered my mouth with an apology to them.
