// hahaha hello//

That morning, I woke up facing Brett's back. My arm was draped around his waist as his hand wrapped around mine. I slowly pulled away, and he shifted too. He slowly groaned as he stretched his body.

My eyes flickered open as they travelled to the boy next to me.

"Good morning," I greet with a sleepy voice.

He doesn't respond. Instead, he turns to me and puts his arm around my waist and went back to sleep. I chuckled lightly as his breath tickled my neck. His head leaned against my shoulder as he slept.

I stared at the ceiling as I cherished this moment.

It only seems like yesterday that we were both trapped inside the bathroom. That he used to be so cold to me. That we used to be friends.

I didn't even notice a tear slip down my cheek until I felt it on my neck. I wiped it as Brett moved.

"Good morning, baby."

He said in a raspy voice. He scratched his shoulder as he sat up. He looked back at me and smiled.

"Aren't you getting up yet?" He asks as planted his feet on the ground.

I followed him without a word.

We went outside. No one was up yet. Just the two of us.

I went to the kitchen and made coffee. I sipped at the warm beverage that instantly comforted my belly because it was so cold. It was early in the morning and we were near the beach too.

I observed as Brett sat down. He took a sip of my coffee then made a face. "It's too sweet!"

I chuckle at him. "That's how I like it, Mr."

"I don't. I'm gonna die early from diabetes if I drank any more," he commented as I unpacked the food we brought. I took the pancakes and started making them as the boy beside me watched.

"Do you want me to help?" He offers.

I shook my head no, and smiled at him.

"Nope. I got this. Could you get me a plate, please?" I asked instead.

He immediately obeys and handed me one. After he did, he stood beside me again, watching every move I make.

"Stop staring, Brett." I say without taking my eyes off the pancakes.

He fell silent for a moment before tucking a loose hair behind my ear.

"You're so beautiful," he said as he pulled away.

I smile at him. "Not as beautiful as you."

A minute of silence filled us as he watched. Serene enters the kitchen after a while, yawning loudly.

"Good morning!" I chirped at her.

She doesn't respond. Instead, she sulks as she sits down on the table. Brett doesn't move his place as he nodded at her in acknowledgement.

"What's wrong?" He asks her as he stepped closer to me and leaned on the counter.

"Let's just say someone's not a morning person," I whisper at him. He bites his lip in order to suppress his laughter. My eyes went to his as he stared down at me.
