// hi! i'm back again! i really would appreciate it if you click that little star and vote! enjoyyy! <3 //

It's been a two weeks since Eddy and I exchanged numbers. It also means I've met Brett, his friend.

Eddy and I have been exchanging texts here and there, so my mom was... a little suspicious, I can say.

"Claudette?"

I look up from my phone, a smile dangling on my lips. "Yep?" I reply, putting away my phone in a subtle way. "Who're you texting, honey?" She asks as she lifts her eyes from the newspaper she was reading.

The light grin I had on my face slowly disappeared as I try to hide it. "No one, just Kaylie," I say and went back to writing my notes. "Hmm," she says and lifts her shoulder.

Silence washed over us when she spoke again.

"If that's a boy or what, you should tell me," she winks. I throw her a look and she laughs. God, I love my mom.

A few more days pass, and Eddy and I have been meeting up more often with Kaylie sometimes, and if Brett was free, he'd tag along too. Kaylie and I also met some of Eddy and Brett's friends, Raphael who we call Raph, and Serene. They were nice, and Serene also started hanging out with Kaylie and I.

It was now Friday. Tomorrow was Saturday, so that means no classes. That night, I went home feeling a little sick. I was coughing and I had slight fever.

I laid in bed and opened my phone. I could see a few texts, both from Eddy and Kaylie.

Kaylie💗 : Heard you werent feeling good, r u ok?

Eddy🐸 : Hey, i was wondering if u guys wanna tag along? we're going bowling tom.

I sighed and shivered. I felt cold. I turned off my phone and saw that it was 8:35 pm. I told myself I'd wake up later and then I'll reply. I showered and finally, again, laid in bed. I closed my eyes and let my worries leave my body as darkness hugs me to sleep.

I wake up to the sound of my door banging. I force myself to open my eyes, and it's already 7:42 in the morning. Guess I really didn't wake up last night. Good thing I showered. I open the door to see Kaylie and Serene all dressed up, facing me, with bed hair and some loose t shirt.

"Hey, wha-"

Then I spot Raph, Eddy, and Brett, sitting silently like little boys about to get scolded on the couch in front of my mom. Kaylie pulls in Serene and I inside my room.

"They're being interrogated right now, girlies." Kaylie laughs excitedly. Okay, what? I'm confused. By who, for what, and why?

Serene sees the weird, puzzled look on my face and she grins. "About who you're texting every night, miss Claudette," she explains while looking around. It's the first time she's here.

"Okay, what is going on, seriously. Not to be rude or anything, you guys are welcome here anytime, but what's the rush? Why're you all here?" I say, feeling my head swirl a little.

"Didn't Eddy tell you? We're going bowling today!" Serene says while Kaylie used the bathroom inside my room.

"What? Oh yeah, I heard that you guys are. I'm not feeling well, maybe next time?" I say as I plop myself on the bed.

"Bummer," Kaylie slips in as she steps out the restroom. "Ugh, come on, Claudette. It's not always we go outside with friends and pals!" She exlaims and Serene nods in agreement. I fell silent. That's true. Kaylie and I would usually go to the mall like once a week, but that doesn't count since it's only the two of us. It's not that I don't wanna go. I worry that I'm just gonna spread negativity when I go with them just because I'm not feeling so good today.
