// i havent done my research yet, help!!!!!! //

"Hey Brett?" I say, my eyes were probably twinkling with excitement as I thought about my teeth sinking into the sweet, soft cake of the red velvet cupcakes Christine makes.

God, it sounds sooo heavenly.

"Yeah?" He says in a low voice, stealing a glimpse at me and put his eyes back to the road. I turn my body to him completely.

"Do you wanna go to the cafe where the absolute best cupcakes in the world are served?" I say with enthusiasm.

He chuckles. "Sure, why not? I don't have any plans today, plus it's boring at home."

I nodded, a smile on my face.

He replies. "Can you lead the way?"

"Of course!"

And after I said that, I gave him the directions to Jane's Comfort Cafe. Do you recall that place? Does it ring a bell? Yep, it's the very same cafe where Eddy and I met!

The moment we arrive, I told him to park only near the neighbourhood because cars can't enter there. He looked at me weirdly as we exited his car.

He looked around and put his jacket back on, the one he lent me earlies. His eyes followed the trees, the abandoned homes as we went down the path. I skipped towards the cafe, embracing the cold feeling of the air touching my skin.

"You sure about this, Dette?" He asks, glancing at me. I laugh.

"Of course, I am!"

I walked beside him with my hands on my back.

"This place looks really... sketchy. Are you sure this is the right direction?"

He questioned once again. I look at him and placed my arm over his shoulder.

"Oh come on, Bretty Bang. Have a little adventure! We're going to be just fine," I say as I chuckled, my hand still hanging on his shoulder. He sighs loudly, his hands on his pockets as he continued to walk beside me.

"If we die here, it's all your fault," he says as we got out of the path we were walking in, now inside the dead neighbourhood.

We stayed silent for a couple of minutes, and I removed my arm. The sound of our footsteps were the only ones resonating inside the neighbourhood, there were no souls to be seen. After more walking, we finally spot the warm light that Jane's Comfort Cafe emitted.

My eyes sparked. "There it is!"

Just as I said that, I started to feel wetness on my shoulder. Dark skies hovered above us, and it started to rain heavily. I could hear Brett cursing as we ran to the cafe's shelter.

We immediately enter the store and the bell rang. Christine's eyes snapped from her phone and unto our wet characters. They widened in surprise. Her mouth formed an 'O' shape before screaming something.

"Brian, bring two towels, please!" She said, not taking off her eyes at us. I crack a toothy grin as I heard Brian groan in annoyance. But he obeyed as he brought out two large towels from their mini storage room.

His vision travelled to us.

"Oh gosh," he says as he stepped toward us, towels in hand. He handed it to us and I wiped myself, Brett does too.

"Where have to two been?" Christine says worrily as she sat us down. We plopped ourselves comfortably on the chairs that don't have cushions, so that they wouldn't get soaked too.
