Chapter 43

Scarlet POV~

"Hey!" Cecil came out and gave me a hug once we reached the safe house.

"Cecil you know you should not be out here." Williamson said.

"Yes but I'm so excited to tell you that Chris had woke up." He continued hugging me.

"Ben is inside with him?" I asked.

"Yea." we went inside and this time, Ben came and gave me the hug. I still thought that Ben's hug was nicer than Cecil's for some reason but Cecil do not have to know about it.

"Wow people, Scarlet had just been out for a few hours, you people don't have to act like she just came back from the army or something." Chris said.

"Oh shut up Chris you had been asleep for days and now that you woke up we would really miss the quiet times without you judging everything we doing." I said.

"Ben, Cecil, Chris, come over here. Scarlet you stay there." Williamson said.

"Sorry baby girl, inspector is calling." Ben said and gave me a light kiss on the forehead.

They were in the kitchen checking some stuff for quite some time, so I just stayed there wondering what Williamson said.

"Scarlet come over here." I walked towards the boys. There on the dining table was Williamson's laptop and on the screen was a picture of Lind, they took a picture of her when I was supposed to interview her just a few minutes go.

"Can you tell me who this is in the picture?"

"Lind why?"

"Maybe you should zoom in the picture for her." Cecil said. Williamson did as he said.

"Now look at it again." I looked and I still felt the same feeling. That Smile was just so mocking.

"Just tell her already!" Chris said.

"Scarlet, the person that was talking to you.... was Linda."

Lilz~

"I swear Lilz if your friend Linda dare touch my Scarlet you shall wait and see what I will do to you!!" Jade kept on ranting after I told them where Linda were.

"If Edmund was the one who said this, I must say I would feel a little scared, just a little. But you Jade? You would never scare me..." I said.

"Shut up Lilz you're not any better than Jade. You think you and Linda can scare Scarlet, no you two can't. Scarlet is just too strong." Edmund trying to defend both his girl friend and his friend.

"Oh really?" right at that moment my phone rang, it was Linda.

"Where are you?"

"I'm driving back."

"You can't drive! You don't have a license!"

"Seriously Lilz? Since when did I start following rules."

"Well that's true."

"Whatever, just prepare those two for me. I think it's better if we head back now, pretty sure they found out we're not in town so this is the best time to head back."

Scarlet POV~

I stayed in my room for so many hours that I had forgotten about water, food and sometimes I would realize that I wasn't breathing.

"Scarlet?" Ben knocked on the door but he didn't came in, he stayed outside.

"Look you don't have to worry about anything. We've got Williamson here and he will help us figure it out!!"

"Go away." I said, even though I knew it was kind of cruel.

"Are you worried about your friends?" He asked.

"Go away." that was all I could say. I thought he actually went but that midnight, I got so hungry I had to head down for food. One I opened the door, there was Ben, sitting on the floor fallen asleep. I felt bad for chasing him away so I woke him up and wanted to bring him to bed.

"Ben?" I shook his hand.

"Ugh what time is... Scarlet?" He woke up and he stared at me.

"Go into the room Ben, you're not supposed to sleep on the floor."

"And your not supposed to chase me away." I was shocked and did not know what to say for a few seconds.

"Scarlet we need to go." Williamson suddenly came by.

Williamson did not have time to explain the reason of us going back at 12 in the midnight but he explained in the car.

According to the officers back in London, Linda had broken out, of course they had no idea it was Linda not Lind. Apparently they found out it was Lind when they found a dead body in the jungles outside of London. First of all I didn't have any idea why they would be in the jungles, second of all I had no idea why we were heading back.

"What does this have to do with us?!"

"According to my estimations, your two friends are still alive and since Linda knows that the officers will inform me that she had broken out of prison, she would think that I would think she would go out of London so instead she would do the opposite of what she thought I would think which is to go back to London so we'll prove her wrong." the last bit of his explanations were super confusing but we didn't bother asking any questions because it seemed as if he was busy on his computer. Usually he would be driving but since he was busy, Ben was driving.

"What if you're wrong officer?" Chris asked which I thought was a dumb question.

"I'm seldom wrong and it's detective."
