Chapter 36

When I woke up, I was already in my room. Must be Ben who did not woke me up. I stood up, looked at the clock, it was already 5pm. I didn't even noticed that we had skipped lunch when we were in Cecil's house.

I combed my hair, washed my face and went downstairs. The officers were still there talking to Ben.

"Hello Scarlet."

"Officer, you have the results in?" I asked. Both Ben and the officer looked at each other.

"Don't worry. I'm fine about it."

"Scarlet it's totally fine if you...." the officer started saying but I cut him off.

"I can handle it." I said sternly.

"Okay.... so uhm.... the results shows that, you are the daughter of Lind..." the officer and he stopped. I was suprised on how I was so steady about it, it was possibly because I already had my heart thinking that what Lind said was true.

"But, there is no prove that you and Lind are twins."

"Twins?!" I screamed. No one ever told me about Lind and I being twins.

"You and Lind, same age with the same mother. It is unlikely that Lind could give birth to one of you in the beginning of the year, get pregnant and give birth to the other on the same year. Not to say it is impossible but it is unlikely." Ben said.

"Make sense." I said. Then I tried to think as hard as I could on when Linda's birthday was. My birthday was on December, what about hers?

"Officer, do you know Linda's birthday?" I asked.

"Yes, it is during December." He said. I knew Ben heard me gasp because he immediately turned to me.

"Scarlet's birthday... it's also during December..." Ben said softly to the officer. The officer sat up straight looked at me and thought of what to say.

"One more thing Scarlet, even though everyone is saying that Linda is Lind's daughter, there is no prove. Not yet so no need to worry, or at least until we find prove."

"Does that mean you will need her blood? For DNA test?"

"Yes." The officer said. I stayed in the living room while Ben sent the officer out. I was urging to tell the officers about what happened to Chris that morning because I thought it could help them look for Linda but I was sure Cecil won't be happy about that.

"So... you okay?" Ben sat beside me.

"I'll slowly accept the fact. You think Linda's my twin?" Ben kept quiet about it.

"It's okay, I know you won't answer me." I continued.

"Scarlet it's not... you know what? Why not we go and get some dinner, I'm starving ald." Ben changed the topic which I was cool about it.

We had a quick dinner in some pizza place near our house. Then when we got home, Williamson was in the living room walking in circles looking down on to the floor. I decided to just ignored him and went straight up to my room but I did try and hear his and Ben's cconversation.

"When did you got home?" Ben asked.

"Just a bit before you guys. Now the reports?"

"Lind is her mother... but let's not talk about it."

"Uhm... very well then." he said. I could hear them through the door from my room and also heard Williamson walking up the stairs.

"I know you're eavesdropping Scarlet." Williamson knocked the door and said. I was kind of shocked that Williamson knew. I mean I knew he was good but not that good. I decided to ignore him so I jumped on to my bed and stucked in my earphones.

"Open up Scarlet." even with the earphones I could still hear him and I put my music on louder, then I couldn't hear anything. 

Only realizing by the next morning, I had fell asleep with the earphones on the whole night. I took out my earphones and yes, my ears hurt like hell. I prepared myself, wore a plain with skater dress, tied my hair into a messy bun and went out of my room feeling sort of prepared for the first day of school after so long, just sort of. I opened the door and found Williamson sleeping beside the door. He must have been knocking all night long. It was sweet but I was still mad at him for asking me to move away.

"Williamson?" I shooked him a little on his shoulders. It was only after I repeated the same things a few times only he woke up.

"Oh yes Scarlet... Ben is off for work early this morning so now, eat your breakfast while I go prepare myself to send you to school."

"Wait..." I stopped him.

"You look perfectly fine, now have some breakfast with me." he didn't want to have any breakfast but after a few times of me insisting him to eat some thing, he finally ate with me.

"Why did you waited outside for me last night?" I asked him while we were in the car going to school.

"Because I didn't want you to do anything stupid you dummy." Dummy, that was the first time he called me that.

"I'm not stupid."

"Of course you are not Scarlet, if you are you would probably been killed by Linda by now, but to be frank, you are one of those who does God knows what when you feel angry or sad or what ever frustration... and before I went back Cecil made me promise him to not let you get hurt or anything."

"That's nice but I'm and capable on controlling myself." I said and I reached school.

"Don't go anywhere, we have business to do after school. I'll pick you up with Cecil." by that he took off. By business he possibly meant we had to go to the police station or investigate in somewhere new where Linda was spotted.

I walked inside school and tried and ignored all the questions that I was asked with. Finally my hero, Jade came to the rescue.

"You're back!" she gave me a huge hug.

"Yeah... sorry was busy with some stuff..."

"Well you will be busy again trying to catch up with school." soon after she said that Edmund ran towards me and gave me a friendly hug and pat on my back.

"Hey Scar!!"

"Supp Edmund, seen Cecil?"

"Footballcourt." I told Jade to meet me in class then went to the field. I started waving to attrack Cecil's attention but his mates saw me and told him anyways.

"Scarlet!" another hug of the day, this time it was long and nice and a little warmer.

"Look Cecil I'm sorry about..." but then he kissed me, but it was a short one.

"It's fine, now go to class." I gave him a smile and a short hug then I went to class. I was kind of happy with the kiss but I was kind of confuse why he looked as if he was in a rush.

"I'm back." I said while I walk tp my sit beside Jade's.

"Cecil's been busy." She said.

"Why?"

"You didn't know? There will be a match coming up later this week, only a few more days to train you know." She looked suprised but she should have known better that I am too busy.

I was so busy catching up with school work that day that I didn't have my lunch. I was just alone in the library doing my work until Williamson texted me.

-Scarlet and Williamson Conversation-

[Be sure to be in the front of your school right after school ends at 4.] Williamson.

[Mind telling me what I'll be doing today, if it's possible I would like to skip today's mission because I'm too busy.] Scarlet.

[No you can't.]Williamson.

After school, I didn't have time to look for Cecil. I looked for Williamson and head off to somewhere, which I hoped at that moment that I knew where we were going...
