Chapter 49

Jade, as in that Jade, Edmund's girlfriend.

"Scarlet." She said. She was standing at the front door with scars all over her skin, her clothes all stained with patches of blood and her in a messy bun that she did not intend it to be messy, standing beside her was Edmund.

I did not know what I should do. One part of me felt sorry for whatever that Jade had went through because of me. The other part of me wanted to just punch Edmund on the face. Before I could do anything, Ben had already invited them into the house.

"Chris, go get Jade some water. Edmund, you are coming with me to my room." Williamson said while giving him a glare. Jade sat down on the armchair while Chris passed her the glass of water. I just stood there holding Cecil's hand not letting it go. Edmund walked past me following Williamson, I could feel the evilness that I did not want from him.

"Jade, uhm... you need anything else?" Chris asked her nervously after passing her the glass of water.

"I don't really need anything but can I talk to Scarlet please?" she looked at Chris, then at Ben, then at Cecil, then at me.

"Scarlet?" Ben said.

"We can talk in the garden." I let go off Cecil's hand and walked to the garden. After we reached, I shut the glass door uptight so that whatever that would go on in there will only stay there.

"Scarlet."

"Yes Jade?" I said finally facing her.

"You don't seem to welcome me? Did I do something wrong? You can just tell me if I did, I'm not Linda, I'm not going to kill you..." she said. She sounded so innocent, just like the normal Jade, but I just felt as if I could not treat her the same like I used to. It might be because I really think all the scars on her skin are caused by me, or maybe was it because she was dating the guy that tried to kill me, or maybe because of what Lilz had said about the truth of why Edmund did that to me to safe Jade...

"Your scars."

"What about them?"

"What did she do?"

"Scarlet do you feel bad for what you had done?" what did she mean by that, I thought.

"You know it's not your fault." she continued.

"It partly is."

"But you didn't wished that you have a crazy twin sister."

"But still..."

"About what Edmund did to you..." she changed the topic in a split second while I was still in my deep thoughts.

"Lilz called me telling 'the truth' about it."

"What did she say?" I then explained to her in detail of what had Lilz said. She just nodded without saying a word. After I was done, she didn't even say anything, just said that we should go back in. I didn't want to ask her why did she not respond so I left it as it is.

"Babe." Cecil called me and pulled me into the kitchen, Ben was in there.

"What did she say?" Ben asked.

"She asked me about the phone call, from Jade. I explained to her about it but she didn't react to it."

"Scarlet!!" Williamson yelled.

"Will you please come upstairs for a moment?" he continued.

"Why must she go up?" Ben asked.

"We think we had found out about some stuff so we need her."

"But she..." I knew what Cecil was going to say. He was going to say that I didn't want to see Edmund, which was true, but in this situation, I had to.

"It's okay Cecil I'll go." I whispered to him and ran up to Williamson's room.

"Williamson."

"Seat down here Scarlet." Williamson told me to sit down beside him while Edmund was opposite of him, not to forget Edmund was also handcuffed.

"You... handcuffed him?" I said nervously.

"It's part of my job that I carry these with me. For safety purposes and also for easier capture."

"I'm not going to do anything, can you please just get these off of me?" Edmund asked. He said so innocently it was hard to imagine what he had done to me.

"Look at this Scarlet." Williamson showed me a video. It was a dark room, really dark, with only one light shining. Linda was in the room, with Lilz having a conversation.

"I heard that she is still alive." Linda said.

"From who?"

"You don't need to know."

"How am I supposed to help you if...."

"Shut up Lilz!" she gave Lilz a slap on her face. The video continued playing.

"You had done enough. You knew that she's alive, you let Edmund and Jade go, you knew of their plan but you never told me!!"

"I didn't have sufficient prove..." she stood up again while saying.

"Oh please is this the first day you're here?"

"No but...."

"But you've turned good haven't you?"

"Hands above your head!" the officers came in. Williamson paused the video.

"I know you may need some time to think but let me just..."

"No no I don't need to think."

"Okay so..."

"First how did the officers know? Second, what Edmund had done was really to save Jade? Third, Lilz really did turned good in the end?"

"So, Lilz called the officers right after she had a small talk with Edmund and Jade. She knew that she would be in big trouble if she told the officers about it but all she wanted was to get rid of Linda. Second, yes it's true. Third yes she did."
