Chapter 8

"Scarlet, Cecil, meet my girlfriend Lind and her daughter Linda!" dad said to us. I didn't know how to react. Dad, dating Linda's mom?! Was dad really serious about this relationship? Cause if he's serious, I'm so dead. I looked to Cecil not sure what to say.

"Look mom! It's Cecil and Scarlet from school!!" Linda said acting like a good girl.

"Oh you guys met?" dad asked.

"We're in the same school dad." I said while forcing a smile. I observed what she was wearing. Actually her outfit was perfect for this weather. She wore a normal blue tee with a peace sign in the middle, a white shorts, a pair of neon pink sport shoes and had her hair tied up into a bun.

"Okay I guess let's get going!" we didn't talk all the way in the car besides dad and Lind. All we did were staring at each other. We didn't even speak a word when we were hiking. At about 10am, we were at the top of the mountain so we decided to stay there for a while.

"Scarlet are you okay? Why are you so quiet today? You're never this quiet before." dad whispered into my ears.

"I'm fine dad. Really, just feel a bit sick."

"Sir, what time should we head back down?" Linda asked dad. She made me feel sick. Being all good girl, everyone knew that she was just acting except for dad. I never told dad anything about school so bassically, dad does not know what she did to me.

"Let's just stay here for a little longer shall we? And please don't call me sir, Ben would be nice." I couldn't believe dad said that. If she wanted to play a game, I would love to.

"Come on Linda, let's go see the vies from there!" I said. I wanted to bring her to somewhere else so we could talk.

"Sure!" we walked there together. She crossed her hands and said:"What do you want Scarlet?"

"Is this planned? You planned this didn't you?"

"Oh please stop being so childish Scarlet... Your dad, Benedict Cumberbatch is a star, even if I planned, would it go so perfectly? My mom your dad by herself, and why would I planned for who to date my mom?!"

"Well who knows, you're a smart bitch, you plan to destroy me, and of course, you are so smart that everything you plan we go on perfectly!"

"Oh stop being so mad Scarlet, we won't want Ben to know that you're not happy about my mom..." she grinned and walked back. I followed behind her after a while.

All the way until 1pm after lunch when we reached home, I didn't say a word. I heard dad tried to ask Cecil what happened to me but Cecil said he didn't know.

"Scarlet can you come here ffor a second?" dad said. I walked to the living room.

"Yes dad?"

"What's wrong with you? Are you not happy about something?" I thought about whether to tell dad about Linda but it was only the first time we went out and I knew that dad really loved Lind.

"I just feel a bit sick dad..." he came and put his han on to my forehead.

"Well you're not having a fever...."

"Dad it's okay, I'm going to be find...."

"Okay then, go take a shower in case if you really get sick." dad said. After my shower, I did my homework with Cecil in the library.

"So what do you suspect this time Scar?" he just started calling me that, I like it, made me felt all evil.

"I don't have any evidence but I think that this is part of Linda's plan, to ask her mom to date my dad then destroy my life."
