"I thought you weren't coming! That took you long enough!" Kayden shouted from across the park. Kayden and I always met up in the park on Saturdays, ever since we were little. We did our signature handshake and went to sit on the rusty park bench. "What's up?"

"Nothing much. The weekend's been boring, as always. But Kay, I have some news."

"Is it bad? Or good? Are you moving? You're pregnant!" I couldn't help but laugh at the last one.

"No! No, no, no!"

"Then what is it?"

"I'm going to London."

"That's great Jaydey! London's on your bucket list. Now you can see the Arsenal stadium, visit Anfield, buy me souvenirs..." he geniunely sounded excited, like he was going on the trip, not me.

"It's the Emirates Stadium. But I'm also modelling up in London. My mum got a letter in the mail from Burberry... I'm their new model in the 2016 campaign." As soon as I'd finished, Kayden was laughing uncontrollably. Kayden was my best friend, and he endlessly teased me as I always booked up jobs because of my mum, but I hated the concept of posing and modelling.

"Modelling?"

"Yes, Kayden. I'm not joking."

"When are you leaving?"

"Next week. I'm gonna be there for 2 months."

"Lucky. Can we trade places? Except for the modelling part."

"Well, there kind of is a plus side to it..."

"Jayde, you just said you were going to be modelling. There is no plus side to it."

I took a deep breath before I told Kayden the good news.

"I'll be staying with the Beckhams."

"You're joking right?" Kayden's reaction was priceless. I wished I taped him screaming.

"You're gonna meet David! Oh my god! We need to trade places. Now!"

An awkward silence settled between us after Kayden fanboyed.

"Aw, I'll miss you."

A familiar set of arms embraced me. I buried my head into his jumper, that along with everything else in his closet, smelt like vanilla.

"Aw Kayden, I know you'll miss me."

*****

I couldn't actually believe it.

In 22 hours, I would be seeing one of the biggest soccer legends that I look up to. A football god, he was. My seat in economy was uncomfortable, and I felt cramped already. Spending a day on the plane to see David Robert Joseph Beckham? Totally worth it.
