Good day Nini,
I've had the most busy and chaotic day of my life, and it isn't even over yet.
Normally people are supposed to make a dinner reservation a couple of days ahead of the actual thing. That way, it allows to prepare ingredients and meals in advance, and be mentally prepared as well. Today however, Sheppard thought it'd be a good idea to accept a reservation this morning, for tonight.
There were twenty something people. Some haven't left yet, and don't seem to be planning to do so soon.
I'm now on a thirty-minute break. Once I'm done, I need to help with the cleaning. I'm so tired. I want to just go to bed right now. Oh... my bed. My warm, soft bed... I can hear you calling from the floor above me...
I hope I didn't disappoint you when I didn't send a third letter. I didn't have anything else to say, I guess.
Are dogs really only nine weeks pregnant? They're so lucky. We're both mammals, so why do we have to be pregnant for nine months? Life is unfair.
But then again, a fly only lives for half a dog's pregnancy, so maybe I shouldn't be complaining too much.
It took about a week until I stopped worrying about everything related to living on my own. You don't have time for that. Your mind is filled with errands, and responsibilities. It's great, though.
That evening at the inn, I didn't think much of the guy playing the piano so magnificently. However, after your last letter, I'm sad I didn't go up to him. It makes me feel terrible knowing I missed my chance to meet my future husband. I guess it's all in fates' hands now. Will I ever meet him again?
Every evening, I look out of my window, hoping I would spot him. Would he be waiting under my window? Would he be walking past the inn? Would he be looking for me too?
I genuinely hope you noticed the sarcasm dripping from those words.
On another note, I'm glad the many-egg-cake turned out to be fine. I agree, the texture is dangerously close to that of a pudding. I kind of like that, though.
Also, good to know you're on my side in case of a lawsuit. Why don't you send me some more interesting recipes? It might be useful to have a stockpile of your support. Who knows what'll happen in the future?
It's nice to hear you and Arthur are visiting the Laurier family again. How long has it been? For as far as I know, a pretty long time. Is there any reason for the visit? Or is it just a 'we haven't seen each other in a while'-visit?
No matter what the reason is, you, Arthur and his parents are more than welcome to visit the inn. You could even stay a night! To be honest, I don't see your family-in-law doing that, but you're a little more okay with that, right? They might be a little too high up on their horses. No offence.
I'll make sure there's at least one room available. Maybe I'll even cook you something special, like... a certain cheese-chicken-soup? Only if I Sheppard pays me and I don't have to sue him, of course. Else, I would be in debt with you, and that's dangerous territory.
Good to hear you're glad the creepy guy left. I was too. That's right. You read that correctly. Was.
He's back.
I saw him like half an hour ago. I was walking back to kitchen and looked at the entrance of the inn. You could probably guess who I saw waiting at the front desk.
But why? I don't understand. He was here a couple of days ago, he left, and now he's back. Our town isn't exciting in the slightest. Why is he here? I feel so uncomfortable knowing he's here. For all I know, he could be watching me right now. Knowing Sheppard, he didn't turn him away. I can just hear him say 'Money is money, Liv. Just stay away from him as much as possible.'
Are you sure you want his money? We just held a huge dinner; we won't go bankrupt if we rent out one less room tonight.
Anyway, my break is almost over. See you soon?
Olive
