Seven

Jihyo didn't know what had happened and came to school as usual the day after what happened.

She didn't see Beomgyu that morning but didn't worry about it much. She greeted her friends and sat down in her seat.

Everyone in the school was gloomy but she thought it was just because it was raining that day.

As she was searching for one of her books in her desk she found a letter inside. 

She excitedly opened it as 'FROM BEOMGYU' was written on the cover.

But her heart soon dropped as she read what was in it.

"Dear Jihyo,

You must be surprised right? By the time you open this letter, I might be dead and all.  But I wanted to make sure to at least leave with a proper goodbye. Jihyo, I knew you liked me. But the problem was, I didn't. I want to apologize for leading you on and thank you for being there by my side. Even if I was unhappy, I really appreciated the daily joy you brought for the few minutes  we talked in the park every day after school. And please, even after I leave, please don't be sad, please always be the happy jolly Jihyo who shared her happiness with everyone. I hope I can be a better friend who doesn't leave you in the next life. 

I lob you. Byee."

Jihyo laughed at some parts of the letter but was in tears by the time she finished reading it. She couldn't believe what she was reading. "He's surely just playing a prank right?"

She went and asked her classmates like a maniac. "Beomgyu is just playing a prank right? Right??"

"Yujin! Sunoo! Answer me! Beomgyu's not dead right? He's there in the other classroom right now! I'm right? Please tell me I'm right!"

Yujin tried to calm the girl. "Jihyo. Just sit down and calm down"

"Answer me! Answer me first!" Jihyo said with tears.

"Beomgyu jumped off the library rooftop." Sunoo said in a low voice.

Jihyo stopped for a second. She just stared at her friends then at her classmates who were looking at her in pity.

She ran out of the classroom with her letter.

Yujin and Sunoo tried to chase her but stopped when they heard a metal box fall to the ground.

It was a box full of chocolates and the words "Will you go out with me Choi Beomgyu" were written in bold on the top.

Jihyo ran through the rain as she held the letter as hard as she could.

"Jihyo! What are you doing here?" Her older sister said as she opened the door of their house.

The younger didn't say a word and ran to her room.

"Hey! You're not supposed to skip class! I'm already telling you! You're in so much trou-" Her older sister said as she opened to door to find Jihyo crying on the floor.

"Wha-what happened?"

Jihyo cried even more."Beomgyu is dead"

"What!?"

"He's dead! The only guy I ever liked is dead!"

"Shhhh... don't cry" Jimin said as she embraced her younger sister.

The older stayed with her sister the whole night as Jihyo cried and cried and cried.
