Thirty One

Jungwon on the other hand was more confused than ever. As he walked back to his home, his head was filled with questions.

'I thought she didn't like me that way. Was that a friend hug? Yes, it was a friend hug. Get a hold of yourself Jungwon, it's already over. You're over her.'

Jungwon sighed as he went up to his room.

Jihyo was full of energy the next morning and she skipped all the way to her school.

She had slept for only four hours last night because she woke up too early but didn't seem tired at all. Instead, she was excited.

"Good morning!!" She said as she saw Sunoo and Yujin in the hallway.

Sunoo looked very tired and so did Yujin.

"How the heck do you have this much energy after yesterday?" Yujin asked Jihyo.

"Why? Did we climb a mountain yesterday?"

"We literally went home at midnight!" Sunoo half yelled.

"And on top of that she started texting in the group chat around four in the morning" Yujin added.

"How the heck are you alive right now?" Sunoo asked.

"Ahh it's a new day get over it guys" Jihyo said before skipping to her classroom while giving high fives to random people.

"I bet she's going to faint by the end of the day if she keeps using energy jumping around like that." Sunoo said shaking his head.

"Nah our Jihyo's not like that" Yujin laughed while mumbling under her breath, "Something good must have happened yesterday"

"Yo!" Jihyo said as she sat down in her seat.

"Good morning anyways did you complete the homework? No, why am I even asking you of course you didn't" Jay said as Jihyo unpacked her bag.

"Hey!! I'm actually a great student! I do my homework" Jihyo took out her notebook with a proud smile on her face. "I did it this morning"

"I had trouble with these two questions could you please show yours"

"Of course! That's what friends are for! See, I told you I'll come to help someday those times you let me copy your homework!"

"Thanks" Jay said as he took her notebook.

The teacher soon came in and class started.

The next teacher came in almost right away. He was the strict mathematics teacher.

The girl behind Jihyo quickly tapped her back when the teacher was turning towards the blackboard.

"What's up?" Jihyo turned back.

The teacher caught Jihyo turning so he gave her a warning.

The girl tapped her back again. Jihyo turned towards the girl cautiously.

"Do have a pad?" The girl whispered.

"I do! One second"

"Kang Jihyo! If I see you turning back one more time, you'll have to stand outside! Understood?"

"Yes"

Jihyo waited for a few moments until the teacher was turning towards the blackboard again.

She quickly turned back and gave the pad to the girl who also quickly took it while whispering a thank you.

Unfortunately the teacher caught Jihyo turning so he sent her out immediately.

Jihyo went outside and the girl who had asked for the pad soon came running outside also.

"I'm soo sorry" the girl held Jihyo's hand.

"It's ok" Jihyo said with a smile before the girl ran away to the bathroom.

The class ended after a long time and the teacher came out of the classroom.

"I hope you've learnt your lesson. You can go now" The teacher said and Jihyo walked into the classroom.

"Couldn't you wait just a little bit to talk? I'm sure what you had to talk about wasn't THAT urgent" Jay said as Jihyo came and sat down.

"You mean you didn't see anything that happened even if you were sitting right next to me?" Jihyo asked.

"Of course I didn't. No one moves during maths class because of our teacher. I try not to blink also. And you had the guts to-"

"Jihyo!" Jungwon said as he approached her seat. "Here you go I took down notes for you" he said as he gave her a page full of notes.

"You copied down everything for her? You mean you're not giving her your notes to copy but you literally took down her own notes for her ???" Jay asked.

"Thank you so much Jungwon!" Jihyo said as she took the page.

"Why are you encouraging a troublemaker who talks during class??"

"I saw what she did"

"Of course you did" Jay said

Jihyo leaned back a little behind and motioned Jungwon to keep it a secret.

"Uhh... Yeah bye"

"What was that?" Jay asked.

"You're just jealous because no one has written down notes for you." Jihyo shrugged.

"Yah!"

The teacher soon came in and they had to resume class.

School ended and everyone was running out their classrooms. The hallway was very crowded since everyone was going to enjoy their Friday evening.

Jihyo had been thinking the whole day about how to confess to Jungwon. She finally made up her mind and decided to do it after school but had to help out the teacher.

She was too late and everyone was already out of the classroom. Only Sunoo and Yujin were in the hallway.

Jihyo ran into the classroom to find it empty. She sighed as she walked to her seat to pack her bag.

"Everyone's gone hurry up!" Yujin said as she walked into Jihyo's classroom.

Sunoo followed suit and said, "Come on Jihyo you said we'll go for karaoke today! Just the three of us! That's why we shooed away the others!"

"Oh" Jihyo sighed as she walked up to her friends.

"What happened?" Yujin asked.

"I was actually going to.. no it's ok. I'm not feeling well today. Can we go another time?" Jihyo asked.

"Sure.. sure.." Yujin said dumbfounded because Jihyo had been full of energy in the morning.

"Yah! You can't cancel on us like this! Kang Jihyo! This is what you get for sleeping only four hours!!!" Sunoo yelled as Jihyo walked off.

Jihyo was walking to her house when she saw a park on the way and decided to take a walk before going home.

Just as she entered, she made eye contact with Jungwon, who was crouching down to look at a cactus.
