Thirteen

"Can I join you two?" Jungwon said as he walked towards them.

"Are you sure?" Jihyo asked worried.

"Yes, I'm sure." He said.

"Ok then! Come on!" Jihyo said linking arms with him and Sunghoon.

"I thought you said you don't go to the library and I think I remember you saying that you can't go-" Jake said but was soon cut off.

"I changed my mind."

The three of them walked off as the rest watched them.

"I sense trouble." Jay said.

"Huh what do you mean?" Ni-ki asked.

"We should watch over them." Heeseung said to Jay.

"What do you mean??" Ni-ki asked again.

"Leave them! Let's go Ni-ki!" Jake said as all of them started walking towards Jay's house.

On the other hand, the trio was now entering the library.

Jungwon's hands started to sweat. He was way nervous than he thought he'd be. Now he was starting to regret tagging along.

"You ok?" Jihyo asked.

"Yeah" Jungwon replied slowly.

"Let's sit there" Sunghoon said as they sat down in one corner.

Jihyo went to take the books for her assignment and sat down with the two boys.

They had been doing their own work for one hour, when Sunghoon said, "I need a break."

"Let's go eat snacks on the rooftop. I'll go get the snacks. The two of you meet me there, ok?" He said as he stretched and left to buy the snacks.

"What? You didn't tell him?" She whispered to Jungwon.

"I don't think I did." He whispered back.

"Now what should we do? Should we say you got a stomach ache?" Jihyo asked.

"No, I need to overcome this. Beomgyu wouldn't be happy to see me like this." Jungwon said as he stood up packing his things and also taking Sunghoon's bag.

"Aren't you coming?" He asked.

"Yeah I am" Jihyo said as she ran up to him. "I could have never done this if I were you. Good job."

Jungwon laughed awkwardly.

"I might just puke at this moment. I feel so nervous." He said as he held the railing of the stairs.

Jihyo could see him clearly struggling. "Don't worry"
She took his hand and walked up the stairs at his pace.

They were about to open the rooftop door when Jihyo got a call from Sunghoon.

"Yeah? What happened?" She said as she picked up the call.

Sunghoon said quickly, "I'm so sorry, but I just got a call that my sister's appendix burst. So I'm on my way to the hospital right now. I'm so sorry but I'm so scared what if-"

"Okok calm down. Don't worry about me. You go to your sister. We can eat snacks on the library rooftop any other day."

"Thanks Jihyo."

"Hope your sister gets well soon. Take care of her."

"I will. Thanks once again. Luv you bro"

"Luv you man" Jihyo laughed.

She ended the call.

"Who was that?" Jungwon asked curiously.

"It's Sunghoon. He has to go to the hospital because his sister's appendix burst."

"What? Oh ok.."

"Then let's go home" Jihyo said turning around.

"No...I want to do it.." Jungwon said.

Jihyo stared at Jungwon for some time. After a while, she quietly opened the door to the rooftop while holding Jungwon's hand at the same time.

Jungwon's mind suddenly went blank as he felt the same breeze blow to his face.

The scene came to his head. It felt like Beomgyu was right in front of him jumping off the rooftop with a smile again.

All the nightmares he had after that day came to his head.

Jihyo suddenly shook him. "Look at this!" She said as she pointed to the sun setting in front of them.

The scene was as beautiful as a painting. The scary breeze which felt full of regret suddenly became calming and soothing.

Jungwon took in the whole scene with all his heart.

"You know, this may be very very weird but sometimes I think, Beomgyu is a part of the sun now." She laughed. "I just see him in the sun. So, whenever I miss him, I'll look at a sunrise or sunset."

Jungwon smiled. It felt like the sunset was taking all his burdens and nightmares as it was setting.

Finally, it was dark. The stars could be seen above their heads.

"We should go home now" Jihyo said as she started walking away but suddenly realised she was still holding Jungwon's hand.

As soon as she realised this, she quickly took her hand away. "I'm so sorry."

"No it's ok...Actually, thank you Jihyo." He said smiling to her.

Jihyo felt the same weird feeling in her stomach and she could feel a blush creeping up her face.

"Yeah" She said as she turned around and started walking towards the door then down the stairs.

Jungwon then walked her home. Once they reached her gate, he made her turn to him and said, " Thank you so much for today Jihyo."

"I didn't do anything."

"Thank you for being there by my side." He whispered at last."And please always stay by side in the future".

Jungwon immediately regretted saying those words. Thankfully, a noisy truck was just passing by them.

"What? Say that again?" Jihyo said coming closer to him.

"Thank you" He whispered in her ears, causing shivers to run down her spine.

"Ok bye now then" Jihyo said flustered as she ran to her house.

Her sister came down the stairs exactly like last time. "Again?" She smirked and raised an eyebrow.

"Oh please shut it"
