"Not you!" Jihyo said embarassed as she ran back to her family.
"Was that someone you know?" Their mother asked as they entered the restaurant.
"No I mistook him for Jungwon."
"Who's Jungwon?" Their father asked.
"Is it that boy who walks you home and you run back to the house then I come down the stairs?"
"It's-" she sighed. "Yeah it's him."
"I think someone has a-"
"No don't, Jimin not here" Jihyo said covering her face.
"Someone has a crushy crushy crushy crushyyyy" she teased.
"So what's on the menu?" Jihyo said opening up the menu.
"Oh I think I know who it is also!" Their mother said remembering that time Jungwon helped Jihyo carry some groceries home.
Jihyo then called the waiter and they ordered their food. She truly enjoyed the food as it was her taste. She loved seafood and they had lots of them.
That night made her happy and she forgot everything about what had happened before, during the retreat.
They soon went back to their own city. Jihyo didn't go out most of the days because all of her friends were also busy with their own vacations.
She texted Jungwon some times, but he always left her on read. However, this did not stop her feelings from growing.
Some nights, she wouldn't be able to sleep because she would feel anxious thinking about the reasons why he was not replying to her. In the morning, she could only remember Jungwon's laugh as she opened her eyes. Some days, she would go out and take walks around his house, so that she would meet him "by chance". It never happened.
Her winter break was filled with just thinking about Jungwon most of the time.
One day as she lay on her bed daydreaming, she finally realised what was happening to her. "I like him..."
She invited Yujin for a sleepover that night and then told her about how she had been feeling and what she had been doing the past few weeks.
"I'm so excited seeing you like this." Yujin laughed.
"I didn't know I could be like this also. Now that I think about it, walking around his house to meet him does seem a bit much." Jihyo said as she cringed a little.
"But why is he not replying to your texts?"
"I don't know"
"Did something happen on the night of the retreat?"
Jihyo hesitated for a second.
"Did you already find out from Sunghoon?"
"Now, how am I supposed to find everything out from Sunghoon?" Yujin laughed.
"Actually that night, Sunghoon kissed me?"
"What?!"
"I don't know, he told me to come help him carry plates, but when I reached, there was a box with my name. It had a necklace inside and then he took my hand and kissed? No no our lips touched for a second but then I leaned away and said I don't like him that way." Jihyo said quickly.
"How did I not know all this happened??"
"I forgot about it"
"But how is this related to Jungwon?"
"When I came back to the party after that, he didn't want to talk to me? No, he didn't want to be around me."
"And you started liking him more after that night? You're one weird girl, Jihyo."
