I Can't Lose You [Eren Yeager x Reader]

1. The Day We Met

I awake to feel the sun shining on my face. As I drag myself out of bed I remember that today is an important day. Today is my first day of joining the cadet corps. I wanted to join because my mother passed, when the titans broke through Wall Maria. So my father wanted me to become a soldier for the Military Police so that we could live in the interior, behind the safety of the inner walls, so we wouldn't end up like my mom. But, I don't want that. I want to fight as a scout, and die trying to protect the people within the walls.

"Y/n! It's time for you to go!" My father called from the kitchen.

This is it, I thought. This is the day I start training to become a soldier.

I watch as Keith Shadis, our instructor, yells at everyone. I impatiently wait for him to come up to me and insult me. I watch him skip some people until he finally gets to me.

"You there! What's your name?" he yells at me.

"Y/n L/n sir!" I say.

"And where are you from L/n?" he asks me.

"From a village south east of Wall Maria sir!" I say.

"And why are you here today?" he says.

"To help humanity win, and take down the titans, sir!"

"Good to know, I'd love to see your face when the titans start devouring you." he said walking away.

But what he said made me angry. I was about to say something to him when he started yelling at a girl eating a potato.

As I watch potato girl run off to the sunsets, I see a cart going out of the premises.

"What's that?" someone asks.

"Their drop-outs," someone says. "They prefer to work in the fields."

"But it's only the first day."

"If they wanna go work in the fields, then that's their decision," I say. "Let them be a bunch of cowards."

"Well said." some guy says. "You're y/n right, from that village south east of Wall Maria?"

"Yea." I say.

"I'm Eren Jaeger," he says. "I'm from Shiganshina."

"Nice to meet you." I say.

"So you were there that day?" someone asks.

"Yeah," Eren says.

"Did you see him, the big guy?"

"Yeah..." Eren said.

"Yeah, alright. I saw the big guy." Eren said when we were at the dining hall. Everyone crowded around him, asking about the colossal and the armoured titan.

The colossal and armoured titans are two new breeds of titans that broke through Wall Maria. According to what Eren said, the colossal titan is this huge titan over 60 meters tall. It has no skin, and a mouth like a corpse. It broke through the wall by kicking a hole in the gate. The armored titan was covered from head to toe in armor, and was said to break through the gate just by running at it. Picturing these titans in my head made me shudder.

"So what was it like?" someone asked.

All of a sudden Eren dropped his spoon in his soup and covered his mouth with his hand. He looked terrified.

"C'mon guys, he's probably been through a lot, I know I have..." I said, my voice trailing off. "Look, let's not make him relive those mome-"

"It's not like that." Eren said, interrupting me. "Those damn titans, they think they can just do whatever the hell they want. Well I'm gonna join the scouts and slaughter all of them."
