Chapter Ten

10 - Waiting

Tomorrow will be the Saavedra's Annual Gala. Reizo didn't go to work and I just finished the first semester that's why we decided to enjoy the day with just the two of us.

Sinundo ako ni Reizo sa bahay kanina at si Mischa naman ay may pupuntahan kasama sila Solandis.

Reizo and I watched inside his living room. We settled on the big couch. He also prepared snacks for us while watching.

Last night, we talked over the phone which lasted for almost four hours and I slept later than usual. Hindi kasi siya nakadalaw sa akin kasi marami siyang tinapos na trabaho para wala siyang gawin ngayon.

I knew he's tired that made me insist to let him rest but he was too stubborn. He wanted to talk to me and I, on the other hand, missed him, that's why I didn't insist further because I also wanted to talk to him too.

Hindi ko namalayan na nakatulugan pala namin ang panonood. I just woke up and found the myself sleeping on top of his body. Ang kalahating katawan ko ay nakadantay sa kanya.

Tumunog nang malakas ang phone ko dahil sa tawag kaya agad ding nagising si Reizo at napansin ang pwesto namin.

"I'm sorry, love. I fell asleep on your chest. Maayos ba tulog mo?"

I was about to sit down but he refrained me to do so.

"Love, mabibigatan ka sa'kin." Sabi ko.

"No way, love. I can effortlessly carry you. And don't worry, I slept comfortably."

Patuloy pa rin ang pagtunog ng cellphone ko kaya napilitan pa rin akong bumangon para abutin 'yon.

I saw that Mischa's calling and I answered it immediately.

Agad din akong inuwi ni Reizo nang sabihin ni Mischa na meron si Kuya Knoa sa mansyon at hinahanap ako.

I hugged Kuya Knoa as soon as I went inside our home. Nakita ko ang pagtango niya kay Reizo na sumusunod sa likod ko.

Reizo and I went inside and sat on the couch. Kuya Knoa was also there, busy with something on his cellphone.

"Love, nangalay ata yung neck ko." I massaged it.

"Let me." He replied and changed my hand to his. We heard a scoff beside us which made us look at Kuya Knoa who was behind it.

"You're acting like a baby." Kuya Knoa glanced at Reizo, "And you're treating her like a baby." Salubong ang kilay niya.

I frowned, but I smiled sheepishly at him after.

"But, Kuya, I'm his baby..." I pouted. Pumikit si Kuya Knoa nang mariin. Hinilot niya pa ang sentido na parang mas lalong namoroblema sa sinabi ko.

"The fuck!" He uttered under his breath. I giggled.

I looked at Reizo with my innocent eyes and he smirked at me. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me on the top of my head.

"Yes, she's my baby." Ngiting-ngiti naman ako kay Reizo nang sambitin niya 'yon.

Kuya Knoa glared at us mostly on Reizo, "What the fuck!"

Sabay kaming natawa ni Reizo bago ko pinagsalitaan si Kuya.

"Kuya! Bawal bad words. You're such a cussing machine!" Saway ko kay Kuya Knoa na inirapan lang ako at agad-agad nilingon ang iPhone niya nang tumunog.

Reizo chuckled lightly, "Go to your girl, Kainoa." He uttered and Kuya shot him a dagger before standing up and turning his back on us.

Nag-aayos ako ngayon para sa Annual Gala nang tumunog ang phone ko. I was wearing my bathrobe since I just finished taking a bath.
