Chapter Twenty-Five

25 - Worse

Weeks before the semester ended, hindi ko alam kung matutuwa ako dahil malapit nang matapos o maiiyak dahil may nalaman na naman ako.

"I gave the photos to Cillian Cazarez and Alessio Saavedra." My footsteps halted when I heard their names.

Nangunot ang noo ko. Papasok sana ako ng comfort room bago pumunta sa opisina ni Reizo nang marinig ko ang pamilyar na boses ni Ceres. Maybe she was also with Winnova and Kenza.

"You what?! I thought you gave it to Reizo to ruin their relationship." Dumaan ang sakit sa dibdib ko sinabi ni Winnova.

Kahit paulit-ulit kong naiisip at naririnig na talagang ginusto nilang sirain kami ni Reizo ay hindi pa rin nawawala ng sakit.

"I know... but I think their grandfathers talked to Reizo about it," Ceres replied.

Our grandfathers knew it first from Ceres? And they told Reizo about it, and it was not my old friends who said it to him directly?

Why did they do that to us? Apo nila kami. Pamilya nila kami.

"Oo nga... it looks like they have a problem, especially now that I am not seeing Reizo around here frequently and Kaela's not in her usual state." Sabi ni Winnova.

"Nababagay lang sa kanya 'yon. She already has Reizo and now she wanted Novel and Spiro also! That slut!" Kenza hissed.

"Are you sure you really gave it to her grandfather, Ceres?"

"Yes. They got it from me."

"Bakit kasi binigay mo? It's better if Reizo received that pictureso."

I heard her annoyed sigh. "Kasi naipit ako. The time I went there to see him, he was not there. Then while talking to his secretary, their grandfathers came and talked to me privately." Ceres explained.

"And then?" Aligagang tanong ni Kenza.

"They told me not to talk to anybody regarding that because they'll ruin our company if that comes out."

Rinig ang pagmumura ni Kenza. "Fuck! They are still ruthless and dangerous."

"But anyway, wala na tayong magagawa. And kahit naman gano'n nga at sila ang unang nakakita, I am very confident that it really reached to Reizo."

"I heard that he went back abroad after that. And never came back for almost two months. Nang bumalik pansin talaga na hindi sila masyadong nagsasama." Winnova murmured.

I was about to run away from that but they saw me first. Huli na nang haklitin ni Kenza ang braso ko kaya hindi ako nakawala sa kanila.

"Narinig mo?" Matigas niyang tanong. I didn't reply which made her push me.

Hinarap naman ako ni Ceres sa kanya na nasa likod ko. Kenza and Winnova now were at my back.

"Well, wala ka rin namang magagawa ngayon kahit nalaman mo. Maybe both of your grandfathers wanted to separate the both of you. That's why they told Reizo about the lie we did. Kasi kung gusto ka nilang pagtakpan, they won't tell to Reizo about it. And you know what's worse, Kaela?" She paused and saw her mocking grin. "They knew that we just fabricated it. They knew the truth. But they chose to hide it and tell Reizo that you really cheated."

"Hindi niyo ba pwedeng bawiin 'yon? Nagmamakaawa ako..." I screamed when Kenza grabbed my hair from the back and pushed me hard.

I closed my eyes until I felt the pain when I hit the ground. Sa likod niya ako tinulak at hindi ko na nakontrol ang sarili ko kaya napasalampak ako sa baba paharap.
