Dan’s POV

Now that things seemed to be going well, I decided that it was time we all went out and had some fun. I snuck out of my room, leaving Haylee in bed and grabbed the phone book. I found the nearest laser tag place and called them to check the time that they opened. They informed me that they opened at 10 and it was now 9:30. I grinned; it was perfect. I hurried back to my room and tossed a pillow at Haylee. “Come on love! Wake up! I have exciting things planned for today!”

Haylee sat up slowly and rubbed her eyes. “What? Why’d you wake me up at 9:30?!”

“We are going laser tagging today! All of us! Go on and get ready and I’ll get the others up. I suggest you wear black.” I winked and left the room. I breezed down the hall to Phil’s room. He had his pillow over his head again and he was tangled in the duvet. I rolled my eyes and smacked him rather roughly with a pillow. “Get up! We have exciting things planned today!” Phil groaned and begrudgingly got up. I left him to get ready, leaving him the same notice about wearing all black. I knocked lightly on Chassidy’s door, a bit timid to go in as I didn’t know her as well as Haylee and Phil. “Chassidy? Are you awake?”

“Yeah, come in!” She called back. I opened the door and stepped inside. Chassidy was in front of the mirror, straightening her hair. “Oh, hey Dan.”

“Hi! Wow, you’re up rather early!” I commented. She nodded.

“Yeah, I couldn’t sleep. I guess the time differences have me thrown off.”

“It’ll do that. You’ll get used to it in a few days.” I told her. “Anyway, you might want to change into all black clothing as we’re going laser tagging today. As soon as everyone gets ready actually.”

“Okay.” I left her to get ready and went back to my room to get changed. Haylee was fixing her hair. “No straightening it today!” I told her. “I’m leaving mine natural for you, but you have to do the same.” She sighed.

“Oh, alright.” She huffed. “Okay, so I know Phil and Chassidy are going to be a team and they’re going to attempt to match. We need to do something and look like a serious team.”

“Okay, well what did you have in mind?” I asked. Haylee walked over to her dresser and pulled out two pairs of black spiked fingerless gloves. “Wow, where’d you get those?”

“Hot Topic. I did a bit of online shopping a few days ago.” She tossed me a pair of the gloves and I put them on. She pulled out two oxblood red bandanas and tied one around my arm loosely. She placed the other around her right arm and we stared in the mirror. We looked pretty impressive, but I knew what was missing.

“Do you have black waterproof eyeliner?” I questioned. She stared at me wide-eyed, but handed me one. It was almost like a marker, which was perfect. “Face me.” She turned so she was facing me and I began to draw cat whiskers. I then drew them on myself and put the eyeliner down. “Perfect.” We took a picture and then headed out to see if Phil and Chassidy were ready. They’d both worn black, matching exactly. They had blue bandanas tied around their heads and war paint stripes on their faces.

Haylee and I slipped on our combat boots and grabbed our coats. Phil and Chassidy were already waiting for us as we opened the door to the flat. “You guys are going down!” Chassidy giggled.

“Oh, you think so, eh?” Haylee teased.

“Yeah! We’re gonna be awesome at this!” Phil retorted.

“Ha, that’s what you think!” I replied. After our play fighting was over, we headed to the laser tag building. Haylee and I chose the red gear; Chassidy and Phil taking blue.

Haylee’s POV

Laser tag was so much fun. Dan and I ended up beating Chassidy and Phil two out of four games, which resulted in a tie breaker. Phil and Chassidy won in the end, Dan and I ending up in a heap on the ground after smacking into each other.

We went to Nando’s for dinner and then returned to the flat where Dan got the brilliant idea to film a video. We all drew on cat whiskers and decided to do a challenge video. “Ok, Haylee, your first one is the cinnamon challenge.” Dan told me.

I sighed as he grabbed the camera and we all piled into the kitchen. “Do I have to do this?” I asked. He just grinned and nodded.

“Yep!” He laughed. I rolled my eyes and took the spoonful of cinnamon. I put it in my mouth and nearly choked. My eyes started to water and I coughed, sending out a cloud of cinnamon towards the camera. Phil, Chassidy and Dan flailed and backed away. I coughed and gagged and eventually had to spit it out in the sink.

“Ugh! My mouth is so dry now. That was horrible!” I gagged. Dan laughed.

“Now you know what we all went through!” He replied.

Chassidy was up next and she did the pepper challenge. She was too nervous about doing it alone, so Phil did it with her. He spent the next ten minutes drinking milk trying to get the burning to stop. Dan and I took on the blind trust fall challenge and the ‘random drink of horror’ challenge which involved Phil and Chassidy making us drinks that we couldn’t see and then drinking them, trying to figure out what was in them.

The video was a ton of fun and eventually we all fell asleep.
