Haylee’s POV

Until Chassidy was settled, I’d decided it was best to stay in my room with her. It gave us a chance to catch up and hang out. We stayed up talking for a bit until eventually we fell asleep.

A loud crashing sound woke me up. I scrambled out of bed and grabbed my phone, trying to figure out what was going on. “Get back here, you!” Dan cried. Confused, I ran to his room and opened the door. Dan was running around his room, a flashlight in his hand and wearing nothing but boxers, frantically searching for something.

“Um, Dan?” I voiced. He spun around. “What are you doing?”

“There’s a mouse in here!” He cried. “It squeaked!”

“Okay, well, you keep looking and I’ll go get the cheese…” I suggested, backing out of the room. I shook my head at his silliness and left the room.

A few seconds later, a scream made me drop the container of cheese. “Oh bloody heck, what now?!” I sighed, tossing up my hands. I headed back to Dan’s room and burst out laughing. He was sitting on top of his wardrobe, knees up, typing on his phone frantically. My phone lit up with his tweet a minute later. “What happened?” I asked.

“…the mouse ran across my foot…” He whimpered. I snickered and shook my head.

“How’d you even get up there?” I wondered.

“Don’t know really…I saw the mouse and I just sort of…climbed the first thing I saw. Quite cozy up here…” He replied.

I laughed and offered him my hand. He shook his head. “That won’t work; I can’t jump without getting seriously injured.” He explained.

“What about a ladder?” I suggested.

“Yeah, there’s one around her somewhere, but I’m not sure where. You might have to ask Phil...” I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone. “What are you doing?”

“Getting a picture of this!” I smirked as I took the picture. I tweeted it and Dan glared at me. Laughing, I ran out of the room and down the hall to Phil’s room. “Hey Phil, do we have a ladder?” I asked nonchalantly.

“Uhh, I think so… probably in the extra closet, why?” He asked, spinning around from his desk. He’d been working on a project for our psychology class.

“Well, erm, maybe you should just come with me. It might be easier to show you then to explain…” I replied. Phil got up and followed me into Dan’s room.

“Erm, hi.” Dan called sheepishly. Phil looked up and burst out laughing. He ran down the hall to the closet and grabbed the ladder. Dan climbed down off of the wardrobe and dusted himself off. “Well. That was interesting!” He noted.

The rest of the day, Dan was pretty much trying to capture the mouse. He spent a good half hour making eagle noises to scare the mouse away, or at least out of his room.

A/N: STEVE THE MOUSE!!! Woot. But yeah, sorry it's so short!
