Haylee’s POV
It was the day of Dan and Phil’s third radio show and I was nervous. Today was the day that Chassidy and I were appearing on the show with them. I was terrified that everyone was going to hate me. Dan linked his fingers with mine as we walked into the studio. “You’re going to be fine, love.” He whispered.
Meanwhile, Chassidy was bouncing off the walls with excitement. Dan froze for a moment and shut his eyes. “Babe, you alright?” I asked, my hand on his shoulder.
“Huh? Oh, yeah, I’m fine, just got dizzy for a second.” He mumbled, brushing the incident off like it was nothing. I was suspicious, but let it go. He and Phil took their places and began the show. It was going incredibly well and it was so much fun! Chassidy and I were on camera the whole time, but we sort of just hung out in the back, only speaking into the mics when Dan or Phil asked us something. We helped out with this week’s challenge, which was who could put the most sticky notes on the other person. Dan ended winning his and Phil’s round and I won Chassidy and I’s round. In the tie breaker, Dan won again, making him the ultimate champion.
All through the show, I paid close attention to Dan. He’d been so concerned about me lately and so stressed about everything that I feared he’d been neglecting his own wellbeing. His hands shook; noticeable whenever he held up a piece of paper. He kept rubbing his eyes and acting like his stomach was bothering him. Finally Aled, who was the DJ for the show after Dan and Phil came in and had a challenge for them. The topic on Aled’s show this week was apparently fitness, so he wanted to see who could do the most star jumps in ten seconds. Chassidy and I didn’t have to do it, only Dan and Phil did. Phil was fine, doing the jumps with ease. After about five, Dan started to look a little flushed, but he continued until he did eleven. “You alright there, Dan?” Phil asked into the mic. Dan pressed his microphone button and spoke slowly, panting heavily.
“Oh yea, just tasting blood is all.” He whined. “I feel like I’m gonna…” suddenly, before anyone could react, Dan collapsed.
“SHOOT! PHIL, TURN ON A VIDEO!” One of the helpers shouted. Phil loaded a video and the cameras shut off for a few seconds. I knelt down beside Dan, checking his breathing.
“He’s alright, just passed out. He’ll wake up in a minute.” I told them. Phil loaded a second video in to the player to keep the cameras from snapping back on before we got Dan up. Slowly, Dan opened his eyes and sat up.
“I’m okay, I’m okay.” He huffed, trying to get up. Aled and Phil helped him into a chair and he sprawled out, lying across the two chairs. “Hays, take my place at the main mic. I’m going to lay her a minute or two, alright?”
I nodded nervously. Natalia, the female assistant in the studio, returned with a cold cloth for Dan’s head and a bottle of water. The video feed came back and we were alerted that people were freaking out. They’d seen Dan go down. Phil and I had to tell them. “Hey guys! We’re back! So that was a crazy few minutes! Dan fainted, but he’s alright now. How you feeling Dan?” Phil asked, taking control of the situation. The camera panned to a shot of Dan and he waved weakly.
“I’m alright,” he shouted at the mic. “Feeling a bit stupid for not eating, but I’m good!”
“Alright, so until Dan rests up, Chassidy and I will be taking over for Dan! Just a reminder, I’m Haylee, also known as YoYoItsHaylee on YouTube! Anyways, Phil, what do we have on the lineup?” I announced into the microphone.
“Ah, good question, Haylee! Up next is another fan request, followed by fan wars! But right now, we have a video made by all of us! Yes, that’s right! Prepare yourselves for the first ever music video starring Haylee, Phil, Dan and Chassidy!” Phil loaded the disc and we took off our headsets.
