Chassidy’s POV
Paris was the most amazing and gorgeous city. Phil and I’s hotel was near the Eiffel tower and I could see it and the Louvre from our big picture window. The first day when we’d gotten here, it was pretty late so we’d just gone straight to sleep after getting our room.
It was morning now and Phil and I sat in a little café near the waterfront. I sipped my coffee and took a bite of my French toast. “What do you think so far?” Phil asked, his eyes lighting up with joy. I could tell he loved Paris so far.
“It’s incredible! Thank you so much Phil. This is the best vacation ever.” I blushed. Phil chuckled. He hadn’t straightened his hair yet and his glasses were slightly crooked.
“Well, I have something I want to bring up. You’ve heard of Playlist LIVE right?” He asked. I nodded and took another sip of coffee.
“Yeah, why?” I questioned.
Phil looked nervous. “Well, Dan and Haylee and I are going and we’re all appearing and I know you’ve gotten to be pretty popular on YouTube lately and I was wondering if you’d want to appear? They asked for you by name.”
I gasped and my eyes went wide. “O-Of course! Yes! That’s amazing!” I squealed. Phil just chuckled.
“Oh, um. I want to take you to the Eiffel tower tonight.” He commented.
A few hours later, I stood in front of the mirror, trying to sort out my wild unruly hair. I was wearing a gorgeous blue dress that I’d gotten last week. Finally giving up on my hair, I let it hang down around my face. Phil gasped when I walked into the room. “You look gorgeous!” He commented. He offered me his arm and I linked mine with his. We took a taxi to the tower and caught one of the lifts to the top.
“Wow,” I breathed. “This is incredible Phil!” I stared at the view as the tower began to sparkle. I turned around and found Phil on one knee, a ring box in his hand. “OHMYGOD!” I squealed.
“Chassidy, you’re everything to me. I love you more than words can say and I want you to be in my life forever. You’re my whole world and I would swim the ocean for you. I can’t be me without you. Will you marry me?” He asked. I could see the fear in his eyes and I felt bad about what had happened to him before.
“Yes, Phil! OF COURSE!” I cried. He looked the happiest I’d ever seen him as he slid the ring onto my finger. He pulled me in for a hug and a kiss and we watched the fireworks. It was the perfect night.
Phil’s POV
The next morning felt so surreal to me. I couldn’t believe that she’d said yes. I stared at the ceiling, a grin permanently locked on my face. I checked my messages and saw I had a couple from Dan. He was frantic, but he told me not to worry and that he’d explain everything when we got back. I made sure he and Haylee were alright. I slid out of bed and tiptoed into the hallway. “Dan, what’s going on?”
“Listen, I can’t say too much right now, this is killing minutes. But I’ll explain when we all get back, okay?” He rushed.
“Are you and Haylee alright, at least?” I asked.
“Not really, but we will be, okay? Honestly, don’t worry about us. How is your trip?” He questioned.
“Good. Um, Chass and I have exciting news, but I think we should tell you together.” I explained.
“Alright… see you soon.” He replied, hanging up. It had been a weird conversation, but I tried not to think on it too much. I went back to our room and curled up next to Chassidy. I kissed her cheek and held her hand, smiling at the thought of us getting married.
