Dan’s POV

I moved slightly, trying to carefully untangle myself from Haylee. She’d finally fallen asleep around 1 and I could tell she needed sleep. We didn’t have a class until a little after noon, so she could sleep a bit. I successfully untangled myself from her without waking her up and tiptoed out to the kitchen. Chassidy and Phil were just finishing up their breakfasts and going over notes. “Hey guys.” I greeted.

“Morning Dan!” Phil greeted. “Haylee okay? I heard crying last night.”

“Yeah, she’s asleep. Her dad came over last night and I think they worked things out, but she was pretty worn out afterwards. I’m going to let her sleep in for a bit. How’s the studying going?” I questioned.

      “Horribly!” Chassidy moaned.

“It’s not that bad,” Phil countered. “But it’s certainly going to be a rough chapter. You and Haylee have the test Thursday, don’t you?”

I nodded and Phil smirked. “You may want to study some, then!” He chuckled.

“Yeah, planned on it.” I replied.

“Ok, well, see you later. We gotta get going.” Chassidy called as she and Phil dashed out the door. I sighed and reclined on the couch. I grabbed my laptop and opened my favorite tabs. I updated my twitter and then decided to go on tumblr. I was in the middle of answering a few asks when the sound of shuffling feet startled me. I looked up to see Haylee, her face tear stained, looking at me.

“Sweetheart, are you alright?” I asked, jumping off of the couch and setting my laptop down. She didn’t say a word, but just wrapped her arms around me. I rubbed her back soothingly, my chin resting on her head. Her body shook softly as she cried and I was worried. Taking her hand, I led her to the couch and sat her down. “Talk to me, baby.”

“I’m alright, Dan. I promise.” She laughed. “It’s just… I feel… happy. Happier than I have in a long time! All those years of pain, just vanished. I feel like I’m where I need to be now.”

“I’m glad to hear that, love.” I replied. She leaned against me, her head against my chest. Our fingers intertwined as we just held each other and I knew that I wanted to be like this for the rest of my life. “Hey, we have a bit of time before class, how about we go do something, hm?”

Haylee agreed and dashed off to her room to get dressed. I stayed on the couch for a few minutes longer, just smiling at her as she left the room. I headed to my room and got dressed, taking only a few minutes to get ready. Haylee met me at my bedroom door, teasingly planting a kiss on my cheek. I blushed and laughed, chasing after her to the front door.  We slipped on our shoes and she tossed me the keys. Grabbing coats, we both dashed out of the house to the car. I popped in a My Chemical Romance CD and we drove. There was no plan, or aim to where we were going, it was just a drive. She had her camera bag and I had mine. We drove to the countryside and took pictures. I was getting beautiful pictures of her. She looked amazing and the lighting around her seemed to glow.

After a couple of hours, we drove back into the city and headed to class. I loved watching Haylee work in the dark room. She knew what she was doing and watching her work was like watching a dance or a theatre performance. It was a solid unit, graceful and happy and perfect. She’d get this look of delight whenever a print came out like she’d want and a look of determination if it came out wrong. Hours passed and soon we left, heading back to the flat.
