Chapter 3: Lucky or Unlucky?

After their small argument at school yesterday, Daniel reflected on what had happened. He thought of everything that Emma accused him of; that he isolated her from her friends.

"Nothing's wrong," the boy thought, "Couples regularly argue. It's quite typical and she'll get over it soon."

In the other hand, Emma didn't think the same. She thinks that maybe Daniel isn't really right for her. However, she shook those thoughts off and gave him another chance.

"Maybe I should give him another shot," the girl thought, "In that way, I'll see whether he'll take advantage or take forgranted of that other chance I'll give."

The next day, the duo met up at school. They apologized to each other and moved on from their disagreement yesterday. For Daniel, it was quite easy. But for Emma, it was easy at first, until she arrived at her locker at the exact same moment that Andi did, her ex-best friend, during their lunch break. Their lockers are right next to each other.

"Hey Andi." she greeted as she unlocked her locker.

"Hey Em." Andi gloomily greeted back. She shoved her notebooks in her locker as fast as she could, trying to avoid the conversation in-the-making.

Before Emma could even say another word, Andi slammed her locked shut, and walked to the cafeteria with her boyfriend, Philip. She took a quick glance of her ex-best friend with sadness on her face before walking along.

Not long after, Jax also passed by Emma's locker. Not a word was said. He just gave a small smile to her and walked along to the cafeteria. Luckily, Daniel also passed by Emma's locker while she was there but he didn't mind her either. The lonely witch watched the ignorant human run away without giving any reactions.

At the cafeteria, not much luck showered upon Emma either. Daniel, the guy Emma usually sits with during lunch, was not at the cafeteria. Daniel didn't show up at all anytime today. The only time he showed up was when he met up with Emma earlier that morning. Andi sat with Philip, not a word or look was given to Emma by them. Guess that only leaves us with one guy.

When Emma sat on the table alone, Jax sat with her. They actually got to bond for the first time in a few weeks.

"Daniel isn't here right now." she softly complained.

"About that. Daniel was the one who made me sit with you at lunch today. I have no idea why but I don't care and you probably do." he explained.

Emma then realized that Daniel is, in fact, taking advantage of his second chance in a good way. He set up this whole lunch buddy-buddy time so she can hang out with her friends again. But where is he anyway?
