When Daniel paced through Emma's locker earlier, he was heading to the Principal's office. Principal Francisco Alonso was calling an urgent meeting with him.
"Hey Mr. Alonso," Daniel greeted as he walked into the office.
"Mr. Miller, have a seat," Francisco offered.
When the Daniel sat down, Francisco grabbed a clipboard from his desk and handed it over to him. The man flipped the page and pointed at the column where Daniel's surname was written. This column was completely empty. Daniel surveyed what the paper was, and found out that it was actually an attendance sheet.
"Where were you all this morning?" the principal curiously asked. The troubled boy looked for a good excuse to tell him but there was no loophole.
"Well, I know where you will be for the next 5 afternoons, detention. One detention per class you skip." Ouch, what a punishment. Daniel grabbed his backpack and left the Principal's office.
When he got out, a tall girl with jet black hair was waiting for him to come out. Her bangs nearly covering her eyebrows, her uniform's sleeves were raised up to her elbows. She laid her back on the wall, topped off with a smirk when the boy went out of the office.
"Detention, eh?" she cocked her eyebrows.
"Worth it." he gave her a high five before walking away.
Surprisingly, someone made an appearance. Andi was supposedly going to the Principal's office but then she overheard Daniel and Mia talking, so she decided to evesdrop on their conversation.
"I could go to the beach again without getting caught. Apparently, you can't." Mia teased.
"I just tipped over, a little. I can do better than you." Daniel retaliated.
Another evillish smirk formed on Mia's face. "So, another date tommorow?"
"Sure, why not? Anything for my girl." he smiled.
Andi was more than shocked. Daniel had a reputation of a good guy, as a newbie at this school. Mia was an oldie, she had a reputation of a rebel girl eversince fifth grade. She is one of Emma's friends, well, ex-friends in the meantime. At least they have one thing in common, they are both caught red handed by Andi.
Andi was in the midst of confusion. She didn't know what to do. She wasn't Emma's sidekick anymore. She isn't really in-charge of telling on what's wrong. But deep down she still cared for her. These thoughts bothered her mind too much that she decided to hop into that subject later.
