Chapter 2: Meet the Ex

Jax

Here we go again, another school day. The usual happened: I got ignored, boring lectures, tons of homeworks, and detention. But something that I didn't really expect happened today, Emma finally talked to me again. I got relieved even for just a bit. Our lockers were right next to each other but when she plans to get to her locker when I'm there, Daniel stops her.

"Hi Jax." she greeted and gave a friendly smile.

"Hey Em." I greeted back, "It's nice to finally see-"

My voice was cut off by a voice from behind me. "Emma, I've been looking for you." That guy must've noticed I was here so his voice started toning down.

"Jax." he said in an angry manner. I shoved my books in my locker and slammed my locker door shut. I saw a shocked look on Emma's face but I didn't care. She should know how I really feel.

Daniel

When I politely greeted Jax, he shoved his stuff in his locked and slammed his locked door shut. Now Emma knows what he's really like. He walked out of the hallway and I walked closer to her. I leaned into her forehead and said, "Don't forget: movies, later tonight."

But this time, she didn't smile. She didn't look happy. It must've been because of Jax. He pushed my schedule off with Em. "Why? Didn't you clear your schedule?"

She hesitated, "Not exactly."

I asked, "Then tell me why you didn't clear up your schedule!" The tone of my voice uncontrollably went high which made me sound like I'm mad at her. She looked sad like she was about to sob.

"Daniel, you're a great guy but you're not my only friend. I have a lot of friends out there, too. I don't even bond with them much because... because of YOU!" she shouted. Ouch, is that what she's thinking.

Emma

While we were in the middle of our conversation, Daniel unexpectedly got mad at me for no reason. Well, he's not the only one. I also have a comeback.

I told him, "Daniel, you're a great guy but you're not my only friend. I have a lot of friends out there, too. I don't even bond with them much because... because of YOU!"

He chuckled, "Pshh... me? Em, you can't blame me for everything!"

I defended my statement, "Oh, really? Let's see. Remember my best friend, Andi? I'm not even sure if we're still best friends. We never got to bond much after we started dating. You know why? It's mainly because of you!"

I walked away from him and headed home. I was not in the mood to talk to him anymore. Usually, once I get home, Jax and Andi would be there and hang out with me. Luckily, I can still remember them because I barely hang out with them now.

I shoved myself to fall straight to my bed. I grabbed my phone and started browsing the internet. What I noticed from afar was this picture frame beside my bed. It was like my mind was forcing me to look at it but I just stop myself. This time, I finally took a glance at it, and found out what was in it. It was a picture of Andi, Jax, and I in Universal Studios Orlando more than a year ago.

Okay, I have news. For the second freaking time, I forgot my Fanfiction.net password and which email I used. In this case, I will no longer post this book on FF.net. Second, this mighr be quite late, but I'm fangirling in the inside rn because Every Witch Way Season 2 is finally coming in Nickelodeon Philippines (Ugh, it's always late). I'll still watch it anyway. To all you pinoys out there who want to watch it: bukas ng hapon, alas singko sa Nickelodeon.
