Chapter 29

I casted Aiden Gillen as Mr. Leo Hunter, the facility's guardian head. You might want to remember this guy, he's plays an important character in the sequel. *tsk* *tsk*(Yep, he's Janson in The Scorch Trials. I picture him as Blake all the time while I was writing this. XD)

Chapter 29

"What are you waiting for? You're up and ready to go so let's go!" The man snapped, pointing towards the doors wide open. Jax didn't move a muscle, and neither did Emma. He yelled, "LET'S GO!"

Jax just laid there, dumbfounded. Who was he to sass Jax Novoa? He asked, "What? Who are you?"

"I'm Mr. Hunter, Leo Hunter. Head of the Magic Realm Protection Facility."

"THEY'RE IN A LOCKDOWN FACILITY?!" Francisco angrily shouted, pounding his clenched fists on his desk.

"Something like that."

Andi and Mia took a step back from their enraged principal. They thought this would be easy as Francisco was a calm guy but an angry Principal Alonso is a whole different story.

Mia explained, "Emma is there only to... uh... accompany him," she paused, fearing Francisco's glare at her. "For the moment; it's temporary," she assured him.

Francisco took a deep breath and had a relaxed smile put back in his face. This calmed down Andi and Mia. He calmly plumped back down in his throne- I mean office seat and leaned forward, laying his elbow on the desk while he laid his forehead in his fingers. "What did he do this time? Rob a bank?" he deadpanned.

Andi was too tempted to chuckle at his commentary but now was not the time.

Just an hour ago, Emma had already called her two besties and truthfully explained everything to them: all from Jax's family's situation down to how they got caught by the PIs, except for their little romantic moment down at the falls.

Mia groaned. "Really? The PIs have the nerve to do that? Can't they get over it or something."

"Yeah. PIs can do that? I thought they were undercover stalkers. I hear Ursula uses one to stalk your dad, Em," Andi laughed... alone. Pretty awkward if you ask me. "Okay, I'll stop."

Emma pleaded, "Just please inform my dad about it. He might be worrying about me right now." There was a silent pause on the call. "Please."

Andi frowned. "Ehh... What's in it for us? Milkshakes? Pizza, preferably anchovy-free?" Mia then stepped on her foot, giving her the look. "OUCH! Okay, we'll do it," she reluctantly answered.

Emma smiled through the phone call. "Thanks. You guys are great friends."

Truthfully speaking though, Andi's just in for the pizza.

Leo took a deep breath and looked at Jax. After he was convinced by the Chosen One to give Jax another chance, he led him to a small closed room with nothing but a blinking light bulb, two metal stools, and an old wooden table. "Alright, Novoa. I'll give you one more chance to explain yourself. If I'm convinced enough, I might let you out."

"Thank you. Well, when I was little-"

"Get to the point. This isn't a damn bedtime story nor a Miss Universe Q&A." Leo interjected. Jax grumbled silently.

"From what I remember, I was commanded by my father to destroy the Chosen One so we can take over as soon as he found valuable information." he explained, making quote-unquote signs using his fingers. "I didn't necessarily know what it meant until he explained that the Chosen One's powers are attached to her life and it was to retrieve them was easier than he thought, as Emma was only a regular goody-two-shoes teen. He sent me from Sydney to Miami real quick and told me to manipulate her. Then there I was, a few steps from succeeding, but I didn't go through with the plan and saved the Chosen One's life."

Leo interjected, "Okay, we're done-"

"I'm not yet done."

"Wasn't that long enough?" Leo complained.

Jax spat back, "You want an explanation, you got one, Hunter."

He continued, "But then, just a few weeks ago, Jessie arrived an introduced herself as my little sister. I grew up to know I didn't even have one. She came to told me the complete opposite: it was my mother who manipulated me into doing so that she even swapped parts of my memory."

Leo chuckled. "What is this? A teen drama series? Do me a favor and write the whole thing down. I could make some money out of it."

"That's it. I'm busting out of here." Jax stood up from his stool, took his things, and bursted out of the room.

After watching the alleged criminal, he let out a light laugh. He muttered, "You can't get out of here, Novoa. This facility is highly secured."
