"Three hundred and fifty five." You mumble to yourself, counting your steps as you walk yourself home.
Counting your steps helps you to not to think about the kissed you shared with Lizzie. Days have passed by since then and neither one of you contacted each other, whether it's a good thing or a bad thing, all you know is that it haunts you.
Scarlett have noticed the sudden shift in your behavior and just like any supportive girlfriend, she didn't push you to tell her, when you said you were not ready, she gave you the space you asked for. That simple action adds up to the guilt that is over flowing within you, how could you cheat on someone as caring and thoughtful as her?
The weather is starting to get gloomy, it seems like it's trying to imitate your emotions. You decided to stay in your apartment for a while since Scarlett had another commitment she needs to attend to for a couple of days. You can't have your negative and intrusive thoughts to be painted all over her happy home.
The rain could start to pour any minute now and you're nowhere near your place. To make the matter worse you don't have your phone with you, you mindlessly left it and only notice when you were too far away.
"Fuck." You mumble to yourself as you feel the raindrops started to hit your cheeks. You ran towards the waiting shed and as soon as you got there the rain started pouring hard.
Minutes have passed by now and despite the shed shielding you, you were still able to get wet because of the wind.
Shivering, you considered just running home since you're already soaked. Before you could even do so, a car stopped in front of you, lowering the window, you saw the one person you're trying so hard to avoid at all cost. There she is in the driver's seat looking at you.
"Y/N, get in!"
"I'm alright, I'll walk home." You denied, this made her roll her eyes at you.
"You're freezing!" She huffed, forehead creases, clearly annoyed at the fact at you would rather die in the cold than to come with her.
It's not like she would kiss you again she thought.
In your head, you have agreed to the God that you would rather die in hypothermia than be near in Lizzie's presence. She could see your body slightly shaking and how hard you're trying it not to be. She can't just left you there to die just because she made a mistake, you are her friend before anything else.
"Come on." The brunette repeated, leaning towards the passenger seat and opening the door for you. You debated yourself for seconds until another strong wind hits your skin leaving you with no choice but to stumble quickly to the passenger seat of her car. "Thanks." You mumble.
Without saying any more word to each other, you both settled in your seats as Lizzie drives away. You enjoy the warmth her car provides. The only sound you could hear are the sounds of the raindrops hitting her car, it is calming but not enough to calm you down.
"I'm not staying in Scarlett's house." You said when you noticed the turns that she's taking are on the way to your girlfriend's house. You told her where you live and she just mumbles in response.
Arriving at your place, you once again debated yourself whether or not you should invite her in. The rain is only getting stronger by minutes and you don't have it in you to make her drive home in that kind of weather after just saving you from dying in the cold.
"Come inside, the weather isn't for driving." You said without looking at her.
"I can still drive home."
"Not on this weather I won't let you." You said, your voice sounded firm and Lizzie had no choice but to obey.
She wanted to talk to you anyways.
