Jayden's POV"Babe, who is it?" A women's voice is heard from inside. Before continuing, she is revealed from the shadows of the house and looks at me while waiting for Grayson to respond. She seems to be around her mid 20's. The woman is gripping a white towel around herself and using her other hand to comb her wet hair with her fingers. She's wearing some enormous pairs of hoop earrings. Something tells me those earrings are the only thing she's wearing. 'Oh god' I say to myself knowing exactly what was happening before Juliana knocked on the door. I take a big gulp and try to be unfazed by my sight.
"Oh Uh... Anna this is my friend Jayden. Jayden this is my girlfriend Anna." Grayson vaguely smiles with his lips tightly closed shut. My heart nearly stops at the words released from his mouth. We both say our 'Nice to meet you' or whatever type of bullshit we say, and then we shake hands. I kept a smile the entire time to prevent my true colors to break through. I couldn't dare to look at either Grayson or Anna so I just looked down at their barefoot feet.
"Well, I uh- I have to get going now," I say. I could sense that the three of us had nothing left to say so before this awkward tension rose, I made my goodbyes and carefully walked down the stairs while holding Julianna in my arms. Trying not to seem affected by the unexpected news.
It's ok Jayden. It's fine. I knew this was eventually going to happen. And it's fine. I should be happy for Grayson... that he moved on so easily. NO- I refuse to get jealous over this. The emotions circling around me are unexplainable. But none of them are good. Unsure if I want to punch him in his throat, or lock myself in my room and cry myself to sleep for the rest of eternity. But I don't. Under no circumstance am I actually going to feel jealous. No way. Just shrug it off.
I swallow the uncomfortable lump in my throat before walking back downstairs holding Juliana tight in my sweaty hands. "Whoa, Jayden wait!" he yells, followed by his footsteps chasing after me. I stop and turn around, but to my surprise, I see Ethan instead. "Oh, hey Ethan?" I say. He catches his breath before continuing. "Hey, Jayden. I wanna invite my you to lunch this weekend at our place to catch up or hang out or whatever." He says. "Oh... yeah sure."
"Oh and bring your friend too," Ethan says. "What friend?" I say confusingly. "That blonde guy. Well, that is, if he wants to come." He says. How does he know about Liam? I never told Ethan about him. The only one who knows about him is Grayson. Could he have told Ethan?? "Oh- ok, I'll tell him." I shake my thoughts and just forget it. "Awesome. See ya then." Ethan says, giving me a pat on my shoulder then jogs his way back upstairs. "Cute baby by the way!" he yells. I smile and continue going down.
I go back to the beach and pack everything we had. Some toys were scattered around the beach due to the heavy wind. The beachball on the other hand was nowhere in sight. I guess the wind blew it way too far away to see.
When we get back home I am greeted by an awfully quiet house. Did Kristal and Morgan already go back home? I see Liam come out of the basement followed by an awful stench. "What's that smell?" I say pinching my nose. "Oreo took a dump down in there and I had to clean it up. Oh, and Kristal and Morgan went to get Juliana's stuff from the mom's house, in case you were wondering." Liam says, closing the basement door. "Oh okay," I say. I set the baby down on the couch. Liam helps me and takes the beach equipment from my arms. "By the way, sorry about last night. I didn't mean to kiss you, it just happened... I'm truly sorry." Liam says. "I'm sorry for ignoring you. It's really not that big of a deal, I was just... confused I guess. Besides, it didn't mean anything did it?" I giggle timidly. "No yeah of course not" Liam laughed back.
"Oh by the way Ethan invited us to have lunch at their place this weekend," I say before I forget later on. I sit down next to Juliana and entertain her with some toys so she won't get bored. Of course, as any baby would do, she put the stuffed teddy bear in her mouth and drooled all over it. "Wait, you mean the house of Grayson? Your ex-boyfriend? Are you sure that's a good idea for me to go?" He says. Ouch, ever since my breakup with Grayson, no one ever mentioned him as my 'ex-boyfriend'. It hurt me a bit, to be honest. Ok, it hurt a lot but whatever. "Yeah I'm honestly not sure how it's gonna go, but I don't want to be rude," I say. "You? Rude? I mean you may have your sassy moments but you're definitely nowhere near rude. You're the nicest person I know." Liam smiles while making his way to sit next to me. My cheeks blush bright pink as I smile shyly, looking down at the floor. "Thanks but, I just don't wanna come alone." I say "Ah, so you're trying to drag me with you?" He says. "No- well- it's not like that- it's just-" Liam burst out in laughter at my struggle for words. At this point, my cheeks are fuming red. "I'm kidding." He says. "Of course, I'll go with you." Liam smiles.
