Jayden's POV
The cool ocean breeze blows on my face and messes up my already messy hair while Liam and I walk along the beach boardwalk. Viewing all the different types of stores along the beach. Liam invited me out and told me that he'll buy me anything I want for my birthday, so that's what we're doing. He has his arm around my shoulder while we walk, making me timid. We're not dating or anything since I changed my mind about asking him out on a date. Though, him being so clingy with me makes it feel like we are.
To be completely honest, it didn't feel right to ask Liam out. The moment that I got the idea it felt right, but after seeing Grayson's face... it made me realize that I'm still hung up over him since the day we broke up. It didn't feel right dating anyone. It made me feel like I was cheating on Grayson even though I knew we aren't dating anymore.
The same goes for Daxon. The time me and Daxon hookup I couldn't stop thinking of Grayson. The sex was good and all, but I didn't feel any true electric connection with him as I did with Grayson. Not to mention picturing Grayson's face while getting fucked by another guy made me ashamed.
Grayson was the only real relationship I had, but he never liked being so affectionate when we were in public. I got used to him being that way when we were dating which is why when Liam put his arm around me in public, it made me reticent.
People were staring at us, probably thinking that we were a couple by how loving he was being with me, which got me butterflies in my stomach. I lowered my head and refuse to look at anyone as we walk but I already know most people had their eyes on us, probably judging us. I just try to ignore them and have a good time, after all, it is my birthday.
"Don't tell me you're getting tired already? We just started." Liam says, releasing a chuckle. "No no haha, it's just a lot of stuff," I say. Liam bought me so much stuff already, it's becoming a struggle carrying them all in my arms. "Oh god, my apologies. How rude of me not to lend you a hand." He untangles his arm from my shoulder and grabs all of the gifts off of my hand.
A couple of minutes go by and I'm sitting on a bench with the gifts beside me while I wait for Liam to come out of the restroom. I reach into my pocket to grab my phone to check my notifications but unfortunately... still nothing. Not one single text from anyone to wish me a happy birthday. Besides Liam of course. Not even from my closest friends Kristal and Morgan. It's ok, maybe they're just busy or something. I take a long a long sigh and put my phone back in my pocket. Trying to come up with some sort of excuse as to why they haven't texted me, to prevent my emotions from getting the best of me.
That's when Daxon randomly popped next to me as if he was in a rush. "What the hell are you doing with him?!" Daxon exclaims. He comes off cold immediately. Not to mention the look on his face. He seems... angry. Very, very, very angry. And by him, I'm assuming he's talking about Liam. "Uhhh... he took me out for my birthday..." I say, still confused why he's acting this way.
