Breakable Love

*Two Days Later*

3rd person POV

Kristal managed to convince Jayden to go to the mall with her and pick out a nice outfit for his big day with Bryce. Unfortunately, Jayden is too lost in his head to focus on the outside world. Too many thoughts, too many questions, and too many devastating feelings all circle his insides. Finding an outfit to wear is the least of his worries now.

"HEY!?" Kristal snaps Jayden out of it. "Are you alright? I've been talking to you but you don't seem to be listening. You agreed to go to the mall with me to find you an outfit but all you've been doing is using your phone the entire time. Is everything good?" Kristal looks considered for her best friend as she's carrying about 10 different clothing items for Jayden to try on. Jayden takes in a heavy sigh. "No..." He confesses. "It's Bryce. He hasn't been texting me for the past two days and it's starting to scare me. We text every single day and he's always the one that texts me 'goodnight' every night when he's about to go to sleep. He would've told me if he was busy or something. Would he? My date with him is tomorrow!" Jayden panics.

Jayden has the sinking feeling that something wrong has happened which caused Bryce not to respond to Jayden's messages, but he hopes that nothing too bad happened. Jayden hangs on to the innocent hope that maybe he broke his phone, or maybe he lost his phone which would explain why he hasn't been answering. He doesn't dare to think about the other possibilities that perhaps Bryce has fallen out of love with Jayden and now he's ghosting him. These dark and cruel possibilities have flooded Jayden's head which leaves him in a panic.

Kristal tries comforting Jayden by reassuring him that everything will be okay. "Don't think too deep into it. You'll only get even more overwhelmed. I'm sure everything is fine... hopefully." Kristal says.

To make matters worse, the pride parade that they have endlessly been talking about and preparing for, is happening later today! They have been talking about this parade for weeks beyond weeks. They can't miss it.

"He stopped texting me ever since Grayson took my phone and sent that stupid message to him. What if he thought that was me and now he thinks Im weird or something?!" Jayden continues to worry. Kristal knows that there's not much she can say to calm him down. But what she can do is distract him from having those worries repeatedly haunting his head. And that's exactly what she does.

After they agreed on an outfit for Jayden to wear, Kristal takes him to other fun stores around the mall, dragging Jayden around the entire place. The mall also has an arcade which Kristal obviously took Jayden. Afterward, Kristal took Jayden to his favorite store in the entire mall which is that one Tokyo store that has a bunch of random cute items like plushies, collectibles, accessories, phone cases, notebooks, pens, etc. She went around the entire store collecting all the Gudetama items she could find which was Jayden's favorite Sanrio character. The entire mall was also beautifully decorated in LGBT+ flags and rainbow balloons in celebration of pride month; Kristal took this opportunity to do some last minute shopping for some outfits to wear for the pride parade. But unfortunately, she had no luck in cheering him up. No matter where she took him, Jayden still had that same depressed look on his face. Constantly checking his phone every other minute in hopes that Bryce texted him back. He was still as upset as he was a couple of hours ago. He hasn't been this blue ever since- Grayson.

"Kristal, I know what you're doing." Jayden confronts her. "I appreciate you for trying to make me feel better but I think I'm just gonna go home now. It's no use. Thanks again though." And just like that he leaves.

Once he makes it back home he opens the front door only to see his ex-boyfriend Grayson Dolan, being balls deep inside another woman. 'Is this his new girlfriend?' Jayden wonders. 'I thought he said that he was going on a date with some guy?' 'Whatever, that's his problem, not mine." Jayden's depression slightly shifts into a more irritated tone. All Jayden wanted to do is go back home and watch tv with a bucket filled with ice cream on his lap. But even in the comfort of his own house, he can't do that since he has another problem to worry about.
