I'm walking back and forward all over the house impatiently. Constantly looking back at my phone hoping to see if Grayson texted me saying he was close to home with the cake. Kristal, Morgan, Nathan, and my mom have already arrived at the party. It shouldn't be too long until Liam brings Jayden back here to surprise him. Not only am I anxious, but I'm still devastated over the cake that Grayson ate. We wouldn't have this problem if he didn't eat part of it in the first place. Liam helped me make that cake specifically for Jayden's birthday but now we're gonna have to settle with a store-bought cake.
"Dude, relax. Everything will be fine." Jeremy tries to calm me down. "Even if Grayson's slow-ass doesn't bring the cake on time doesn't mean that we're going to eat the cake as soon as Jayden gets here. People usually wait until the end of the party to eat it." He laughs.
"Yeah but, it still doesn't look good on our part if we don't have a ca-"
"Oh my god, Jayden is coming!!!" Kristal exclaims to everyone.
Everyone stops what they're doing and scrambles around in search of a hiding spot. I rush to hide behind the couch along with Morgan. After we all had settled in our hiding spots there was a long period of silence as we all anticipated Jayden's arrival. Finally, the door opens and we see Jayden's eyes blindfolded. Jayden holds onto Liam's hands, giving Liam his full trust as he directs him to the right location. Liam then removes the blindfold from Jayden. Soon after we all jump out of our hiding spots and yell
"SURPRISE!!"
Jayden gets startled by the sudden noise but then immediately turns his shocked face into a gleaming smile when he sees everyone he knows all gathered around to celebrate his birthday. Now if only Grayson and his friend would come back soon with the cake before someone begins to wonder where the cake is.
Grayson'sPOV
I lay on the ground unconscious as my eyes slowly open back up again. "Grayson are you alright!?!" Keith frantically asks. I ignore him. I squint and raise my left eyebrow to see clearer, but the suns beaming rays made it hard for me to clearly see the world around me. Thankfully the tall trees blocked off some of the light. But the sun was still way too bright for my freshly awaken eyes, so I raised my hands over my eyes to block off the light. And that's when I realized. The left side of my forehead was killing me. It must've been bruised by the sudden fall. I press my finger against it which I immediately regret cause it began hurting like a bitch. "Aghh". I look back at my finger and sure enough, there was blood. "What happened?" I say.
"You almost got run over by a speeding car," Keith says. "Wait... I got ran over?" I say trying to comprehend, but the pounding of my head is making it hard for me to understand what's going on. "No, you almost got run over but I pushed you to the side before it happened." He explains. "Wait, so... you saved me?" I ask. "But... why? I thought you didn't like me?"
