Unbreakable Love

Vulnerable in bed

Jayden's POV

I wake up to the sound of a constant beeping noise. I look around the room and find myself in a hospital bed.  When my eyes fully opened, I see Grayson, Anna, and Ethan looking down at me. Their faces lifted with joy when they saw me opening my eyes. "Jayden!" They all enthusiastically say. "Are you ok??" Ethan asks.

"What happened?" I say with a raspy tone in my voice.

"You passed out by the damage Liam did to you. Daxon told us everything." Ethan says.

"I knew that motherfucker was nothing but trouble," Grayson growls in anger. "He's  so goddamn lucky the cops found him before I did, I would've killed-"

"Ok, I think you've said enough Grayson." Anna rubs his chest to calm his temper.

"Sorry."

It took a couple of seconds to recall everything that happened. My stomach sunk when I fully remembered those frighting hours. It's still fresh in my head. Also knowing that the Liam I once knew is gone hurts me. I'm not sure when I'll get over it, or if I ever will. I just hope that somewhere out there, in another dimension, there exists a Liam that's exactly like that Liam I thought I knew and loved. I guess Daxon was right all along.

An hour went by and I basically told them everything that happened and also shed some tears here and there. It was slightly difficult since my voice was weak from all the screams, not to mention my body felt frail. They were all very caring and understanding of my situation. Ethan even promised that he'll do whatever I ask him to do for a month straight, which made me laugh.

Grayson's POV

Jayden fell back asleep after a while and eventually, Ethan decides to leave the room to give Jayden some time alone. Anna follows behind him.

"Hey Gray, you coming?" Ethan waits for a response as he stands right outside the room, holding the door open. "Go without me, I'll be there in a sec," I say. "Alright," Says Ethan as he closes the door behind him. I wait and watch as the door completely shuts close.

I look back at Jayden who's peacefully laying in bed, sound asleep. I watch as his smooth face inhales in and exhales out. He's so adorable... how can anyone be so cruel to him?

That motherfucker.

I sit on a chair aside from his bed to keep him company while he sleeps. My eyes can't seem to remove themselves off his face. The thought of him being in serious life-threatening trouble like that terrifies me. I feel like it scares me to think about Jayden losing his life more than it does to Jayden himself. I knew from the second I saw that basterds face that he was bad news. I should've destroyed his entire house when I had the chance to that other time.

Ugh, why am I like this? Why am I so overprotective? Jayden's here and safe and that's all that matters. I guess I should go catch up to Ethan and Anna now since there is no point in staying here. Wait but what if he wakes up and sees all of us gone?!

No. I said I was going to stop being so overprotective and that's what I'm going to do. I stand up and walk to the door. "Grayson." Jayden softly says with his eyes barely half opened. I immediately turn my head back around and run up to him. "Yeah?" I ask. "Thank you so much for being there for me. I was afraid I might lose you because... you are my best friend and I wouldn't know how I would be without you in my life." He pauses. "You're always there when I need someone, you're always the first person that is there when I am in trouble, or even- even when you just want to," Jayden says as he chuckles weakly with his eyes remaining to be half open. "I hope you think of me the same way... I appreciate you so much, Grayson." He says before going back to sleep.
