Gayson Rumors

CONTEXT: This chapter takes place at the beginning of the book, back before Grayson even faked his own death and had to move to a new house. It was when the media began to speculate if Grayson was actually gay/bi or not. Theories of Grayson and Jayden dating have also been floating around the internet during this time. This is the most different chapter I have ever made, and you'll see why. ;)

Haley's POV

"What's up, guys, we're back!"  The twins say their classic intro. "We have our friends, Jayden and Emma, joining us today cause... if you haven't seen the title of this video, we're gonna be having a cooking competition!"

There's nothing better than watching a new Dolan Twins YouTube video every Tuesday with my best friends Marcus and Leah. We have a weekly routine where every Tuesday, we meet up at my place after school and watch the twin's new video.

But this Tuesday is even more special, especially for Marcus and me, becaaaausseeeeee... Jayden is in this week's video!!!

Marcus and I are obsessed with Jayden and Grayson's chemistry together. They always have such adorable interactions with each other whenever Jayden is featured in the videos or even in Ethan and Grayson's Snapchat stories; you can always see Grayson being so soft around Jayden. I have never seen Grayson act this way around anybody before. Expect for kids, of course. When it comes to people his age, I have never seen Grayson be so soft until he became friends with Jayden.

We aren't the only ones obsessing over their friendship, though. So many fans online are also in love with this duo. I can't go a day without stumbling across compilations on TikTok that people have made of all the cute moments Jayden and Grayson have shared. People are also theorizing that they are possibly dating!

At first, I thought that people were taking it a little too far for thinking that they were dating. Since the sister squad was still a thing, people have also speculated that Grayson and James were dating. But I never believed it. Nor was there enough evidence to confirm this rumor, so it eventually died down.

I have always assumed that Grayson was straight, which is why I have been struggling to believe these new rumors about Grayson and Jayden. But now, come to think of it, just because Grayson doesn't fit into the whole 'gay stereotype' of being all feminine and wearing makeup (Or, in other words. Just because Grayson doesn't act like James Charles) doesn't mean he isn't gay—or at least bi.

It's 2023; for god sake, the world isn't black and white. Just because Grayson Dolan is more on the masculine side doesn't mean that it automatically puts him in the heterosexual category. That's not how it works, but unfortunately, that's how most of society still views it. In black and white.

My older brother, Benji, for example. He came out of the closet several years ago, yet he is the most masculine guy I've ever met. He has played professional college football for many years, even in his free time. He works out almost every day and has an exceptionally ripped body. He has participated in several marathons and has consistently finished strong. But yet he has a whole boyfriend who he has been dating for almost two years now. It always surprises people when they find out that the 'lucky girl' turns out to be a guy. Benji has never been afraid to show his boyfriend off to the world.

"Wait, Haley! Run that back! Did you see the way Grayson kept staring at Jayden the entire time?!!" Marcus says, rewinding the video a couple of seconds to re-watch it.

Marcus is right. The twins, Jayden and Emma, are all standing behind the marbled white island in the kitchen with their cooking ingredients in front of them. Jayden and Emma are in between, while the twins are on separate sides of them. Grayson is on the far right, standing next to Jayden, while Ethan is on the far left, next to Emma. And for some reason, Grayson has his eyes glued to Jayden's face the entire time. Examining his every detail. Grayson's eyes go from Jayden's eyes down to his lips. And then repeats the same eye movement for a second and a third time!!
