Pony's POV
Oh sh** I thought, I overheard Darry talking to Soda about what I said to Paul. This was bad bad bad bad I felt like passing out, they were finishing up their conversation. I snapped out of the listening daze and into a homework daze. "Goodnight Ponyboy" "goodnight Darry" he said as he went into the hall, Soda and me went to bed. Thursday, I woke up and got ready for school I wore one of Soda's old flannels and a white shirt underneath with some jeans I don't wear flannels that much but I figured Lilly would like it. Tomorrow was Friday, I already planned to watch the sunset. I showed up to school without being jumped luckily I waited for Lilly, Johnny showed up "Hi Pony" "hey Johnny" "hey I heard there's a school assembly today." We heard a voice say as a pack of kids passed by us "assembly?" I said with a puzzled look on my face. The bell rang, Johnny and I had all of our classes together the school organizes by last name. Anyone with the last name starting with A-G we're put into my classes. My first class was math but we all got to miss all of our classes. Lilly sat down next to me then 2 seats down Johnny sat with Cherry I was a little nervous sitting next to Lilly. I was afraid I was gonna mess something up just by breathing my palms got all hot and clammy. Darry is right I should just make a move so this is how it went " hey Lilly ?" "Yeah" she said with her beautiful emerald eyes. "Do you have plans for this weekend?" " hmmmmmmm no" " okay do you wanna hang out me- I mean the gang too" "yeah I'd love to" she said with joy. I couldn't breathe I was so scared I was shaking. "Hello students" a teacher said yelling into the microphone which made it louder. " Today we will be discussing the homecoming dance" Lilly pulled out her notebook so fast she almost lit on fire. She started writing "dance yay" tore out the paper and asked the person next to her to pass it to Cherry. She leaned forward to look at Cherry, I leaned back to look at Johnny, we made eye contact and I shrugged. Lilly got a note I couldn't help but looking and it said "are you going." Lilly began writing "I don't know yet" she then sent it back to Cherry, this this could be my chance to ask Lilly out to the dance and ask her to be my girlfriend. Things are just great:).
Lilly's POV
I think Pony likes me, the dance is right before thanksgiving which should give Pony enough time to ask me... just saying. Mom couldn't come home yesterday so she's come home today, we were in the gym watching a movie after the presentation was done. A teacher interrupted the movie to say "Lillian Brown, your mother is picking you up you can leave now." The movie resumed everyone was looking at me, I looked at Pony "bye" "bye" he said in confusion. I ran out the door like a bat out of hell and to mom's car, I found her standing with her arms out ready for hugging postiton. I ran straight into her arms almost knocking her over she hugged me tight and kissed my head "mom I missed you so much" "I missed you to baby." Mom was beautiful she had long red lushes curly hair with blue eyes and freckles. Paul got his icey blue eyes from her and straight red hair, he'd usually gel his hair like Steve would gel his. Our dad had red now fading into a grey hair color with green eyes, I miss him soo much and wish to see him. Mom took me home, "is Paul home?" I asked "yes he didn't have to work today" "has he seen you?" "No you want to surprise him?" Mom said excitedly I get my wildness from my mom. "Of course I do" we showed up at the house, I told Paul I had half day at school yesterday so he'd expect me to be home. Yesterday I talked with mom to surprise Paul, I walked inside and greeted Paul, 2 minutes later she rang the doorbell and I let Paul answer it and I watched. Paul looked surprised then stuck his arms out and gave her a hug I joined the group hug, Paul had his eyes closed we really missed mom. I was in my room when mom walked in "tell me about Randy" mom and I were really close "sure" I said very delighted as I sat up from laying on my bed and mom sat down "so" I started off by saying. "Looks like that boy's in some trouble huh?" "You'd better believe it."
Paul and I were making dinner, it wasn't close to dinner time the dinner was fit for 6 people, it was very special......
