You always had a thing for nature. You weren't sure why. Maybe it's how calm and quiet it is compared to the bustling city, maybe it's because of how clean everything felt, and maybe you just liked to explore.
It didn't help that it was incredibly nice outside. Not too hot that you're melting, but not too cold that you're freezing. Even the sun wasn't incredibly blinding, though the foliage helped blot it out from being too harsh.
As you spent your time going about your walk, you couldn't help but hear some rustling. You first assumed it was nothing and continued on your merry way. The noises only increased as you could hear an animal's growl. You weren't able to discern the noise as anything familiar, which only made your heart pound harder.
You couldn't take it anymore as you could feel the ground almost shake. You got into a sprint, hoping that you could outrun whatever it was behind you... But you could hear the animal's grunts still, and they didn't seem like they were letting up.
You recalled a documentary about how humans used to hunt in prehistoric times. The prey would expend all their stamina trying to outrun the humans, only to tire out while they reserved all their strength for their kill. You were, unfortunately, in that same circumstance it seemed, only you're the prey.
So, you try to divert its attention away from you by running off the beaten path, perhaps even get over some obstacles so that it would have a hard time chasing you... This worked... For about a second before you tripped over and fell down a large hill. Each tumble gave you a new bruise before finally, you slammed your head against a tree...
WHAM.

Your eyes slowly opened up as you felt your head on a soft patch of pillows. You felt a heavy pressure applied to your head as well as your hair being stroked. You could hear a soft cooing as you looked up to see a woman petting your head.
"My my, you're awake." She had a very soft voice that kept you calm down.
"Wha... What happened?" You asked.
"If I were to guess, I'd say that you got into a bit of a scare from one of the animals." As she said that, you noticed a large bear crawling up to you. You immediately seized up...
Only for this mysterious woman to pet the bear as though it were her dog. The bear went docile almost immediately, right next to you.
"Don't worry, you're safe now." You immediately felt this disturbing sense of being too afraid to sleep, yet too relaxed to get up. All you could do was watch as the green haired woman with golden eyes and small twigs that resembled antlers on her head lulled you back to sleep with her calm, soothing voice.

When you awoke once more, you felt extremely refreshed. Your head rested on a large pillow of moss... The bear and the woman were gone, with the only remnant being that your forehead was covered in a slightly muddy green moss. You tried to pull it from your forehead, but realized it's practically stuck to your head. Though, it was less like it was glued and more like it was a... band-aid...
Wait, did that woman... take care of you? You couldn't believe it. You didn't even know her and yet, she kept you safe. Kept you secure...
You... liked her. You gave a smile. You thought of waiting for her to see if she returns, but you saw the setting sun... It was getting late and you had to return home. Though, you promised yourself to return to this place, find her, and personally thank her for the hospitality.
You went back home, never forgetting that pleasant feeling and how you wanted to reclaim it. But, you at the very least want to send your thanks in advanced.

[Perspective Shift]
The next day, Fauna went to the tree where she found that person who got knocked out. There, she found a bouquet of flowers and a note attached to it. She gleamed at the note. A thank you letter from that very person.
Fauna smiled as the bear crawled next to her.
"Good boy..." Fauna thought back to earlier that day. How she sent her bear to stalk the person and spook them with its grunts and growls. She couldn't believe how easy it was.
Fauna had seen this person for months and had admired them from a distance for their appreciation to Nature. However, their visits to her forest were too brief for her liking. She hated the idea of them returning to Civilization.
She smiled. The first step of her plan was complete... She now needed to wait for them to return, then set up another accidental meeting... And another... and another... Until they were convinced that it was fate itself pushing the two together... And then...
She smiled and pressed her hands against her face, fully flushed red from how it was all coming together.
"You will be mine... and mine alone." Fauna said, retaining the same motherly calmness that she presented earlier.
