You weren't sure where exactly Polka decided to take you out today. You were just fine laying in your bed the whole day. Yet, Polka dragged you out of bed and even carried you out of the house.

Eventually, you were able to walk on your own without her assistance, but you still didn't really have the energy to actually get anywhere. You mindlessly looked around the streets and buildings. While you could see their names and logos, they didn't really register to you.

The only thing that you could actively see and acknowledge was a sign for the county fair, and that was only because Polka pointed your attention to it.

"Yo! This is gonna be exciting!" Polka said to you. You followed her into the county fair where the smell of popcorn and cotton candy wafted through the air. It was that odd sense of nostalgia, mixed with the old timey carnival themes, that gave you a small pep in your step. "See? You're already starting to feel better!" Polka said to you.

"I guess..." You muttered.

"Ah!" Polka pointed to a person dressed in a large bear costume. "That must be the fair's mascot! They're so cuuute~!" She dragged you along to the bear.

"Hello there! Welcome to the county fair! Can I help you out?" The bear's voice sounded sickeningly cute... And almost too familiar. Though, you couldn't be bothered to actually figure it out.

"Go on, hug the mascot. I'll take a picture!" Polka took out her phone.

"Huh?" You asked before the bear mascot pulled you in for a tight hug. The feeling of being held so tightly was all too familiar as well. For a moment, you felt resistant but after a second or two, you returned her hug with a hug of your own, embracing this feeling of peace that you have.

"Niiice!" Polka exclaimed as she went up to you. The bear let go as your bliss shattered, landing you back into depression. "Let's go check out a ride." This time, she didn't pull you, as you subconsciously followed her. You looked back at the bear, who waved at you.

-_-_-_-_-_-

Because of how small the overall fair was, one of the few rides you could find was what was basically a mini coaster. A small, circular track with bumps to simulate ramps. Obviously, this was a cheaply made "baby's first roller coaster" kind of ride, but as it was the only roller coaster ride at the fair, obviously you and Polka got on it.

The ride got off at a pretty decent speed. Not too fast that it made you dizzy, but not too slow that you felt bored. Yet, Polka screamed and cheered as though she were on one of the more thrilling rides.

"Raise your arms up, it's funnier that way!" Polka pulled your arms upward as it went down a laughably small ramp. "WHEEEEE!" It almost as exciting as running over a speed bump well below the speed limit.

It went like this for five minutes. Already, the repetitive circus music that crapfully went out of the speakers in a horrible quality was driving you insane and when you were finally given the leeway to get off, you took it.

"That was fun, wasn't it? We should get on it again before we leave." Polka, however, sounded like she just witnessed the most amazing thing in her life.

"Did you know someone proposed a roller coaster that kills you if you were to ride it?" You said moodily.

"... Wow, that's morbid." Polka's mood didn't sour, but it was clear she didn't that fact.

"Wonder what'd be like to ride it." You didn't even notice yourself saying that until Polka grabbed your wrist.

"Hey! Don't say such stupid things, okay!?" Polka glared at you as her once starry eyes changed into spades. She gave you a pout and waited for you to answer her.
