"There, that should do it." You heard Botan said as she slapped the plate of your desktop back into place, giving a satisfying snap. You went over as she screwed the bolt back in place.

"So, what happened?" You asked her. You weren't savvy with technology, so when your PC roared like a demon from hell in the middle of playing Halo Infinite, you were given a scare. Not helped by the fact that at some point, it sounded like a small bomb went off and completely shut off your computer with no hopes of rebooting it.

"Fans gave out and the computer shut down due to overheating. I should have realized this PC didn't have a graphics card." Botan said.

"Huh?" You asked.

"Your computer relied on the CPU to render the graphics, which put too much stress on it. It got too hot that the fans couldn't keep up and, well, I had to replace them." Botan showed you a small cardboard box that contained the burnt-out CPU chip and damaged fan. "The motherboard's not as damaged, though I'd look into replacing it if it starts acting up."

"So... What now?" You looked at the now useless parts.

"Well, I replaced the CPU and fan with more powerful versions and I've added a GPU into it, so your games can run off of that instead of relying on the CPU." Botan explained in a sort of matter-of-fact tone that you couldn't wrap your head around. "Go ahead, give it a whirl." Botan stepped aside and showed off the repaired PC to you.

You got off your couch and went over. You looked at the power button and, with a slight moment to anticipate what would happen, you pressed it...

Suddenly, the PC exploded into a large fireball that incinerated the desk it rested on and knocked you and Botan back, the force shattering windows and the heat causing a fire throughout your room...

"Hey, it's okay." Botan held your hand as you focused... The PC was still there... Your finger hovered over the power button. She could feel your hand tremble. "You're worried, aren't you?" You realized what you watched was just your imagination. You nodded. "Yeah, it can get scary if you don't know a lot about it... But once you do, and once you realize that repairs will need to be made sometimes, it's not so bad." Botan guided your hand as your finger pressed the button.

You tensed as you heard the fans roared, but once they quickly quieted down as you saw the computer boot up normally.

"See? It's fine." Botan said. The desktop soon came up as it loaded Steam. "Feel like giving Halo another go?" She asked. You listened closely to the fans in the PC, worried if their quiet purrs would once more turn into screams. You just knew that, in a moment's notice, the computer will explode. Botan looked at you, gave a smile, then sat down on your chair. "There's nothing to be afraid of."

You took a moment to see that Botan swiveled the chair to face you, arms outstretched. Realizing what she wanted from you, you blushed and complied, sitting on her lap. It hadn't occurred to you until now how tall she was, as her body completely supported the backs of your head, body, and legs. There, you watched as Botan opened up Halo Infinite. Within seconds, the program launched.

At first, you worried about the increased noise, but the last time you played this, the fans overpowered even the loud gunshots. Here, the music was the one that muted out the fans. Instinctively, you grabbed your controller once Botan had you join a multiplayer match.

In no time at all, you forgot all about your computer possibly dying. In fact, the game played better, or rather faster. There was no chugging, no lagging, and everything ran at a smooth 60 FPS. All the anxiety you had with your computer just melted away as you enjoyed yourself. It didn't even matter if you were dying more than you were killing. Botan seemed to be happy that you were so engaged, and by the end of your first game, gave you a pat on the head.

"There, you feel better?" She asked you.

"Yeah..." You disengaged from the game and allowed yourself to get comfy. Oddly enough, Botan made for a pretty good cushion for your chair, given how soft and warm she was. Unfortunately, you knew she had to get up, so you got off your chair.

"You know, if you want, I can get you started on building your own PC so that way you can see first hand how to fix it if something goes wrong. Would you be interested?" Botan asked. Immediately, you nodded. "Perfect! I'm pretty much free all of Saturday. Wanna come over to my place then?" Botan asked you.

"Sure thing!" You said as she smiled to you.

"Then it's settled. I have an old PC I don't use anymore that we can experiment on." Botan went over to get her shoes on.

"Thanks, Botan..." You said to her.

"It's nothing. What are friends for?" Botan's joy-filled face, coupled with her tiny little fangs, made you blush. As she left, you began to anticipate the day you would learn from her about maintaining your own PC, and hopefully, get over your computer anxiety.
