The enigmatic mage, adorned in fire red robes, wandered into the dungeon. For the longest time in his life, he had been fighting alone, exploring the Legendary Age that has been shown before him for only limited spaces of time before he is called back out to his world of origin. This was the tale of Burai, the Lone Flicker...

Or so that was the story you made for your character for the MMORPG, Legendary Age. In truth, Burai was just an avatar among many other avatars in this game. The game's somewhat fun, though for the most part, you mostly get an hour or two of game play in it daily before cramming your homework and doing other stuff. You only even gave it an hour because the hefty amount of gigabytes it took to download it sort of made you feel committed to playing it.

So you played a lot of the game, mostly doing the tutorial missions that the NPCs give. A boring slog, to say the least.

"Go kill these many rats!" "Escort my cousin over to this place!" "Stop these bad guys!"

One after another. The quests just won't stop. Eventually, you decided to just stop and play a dungeon instead. Your character entered the dungeon and explored the area. It felt... weird. The monsters seem to have been absent. You'd almost be guaranteed to encounter at least one orc patrol in the starting area.

Perhaps a glitch? You sort of worried that was the case. God knows you'd come across a game breaking glitch that will dissuade you from playing more.

Just then, you heard something. Well, rather, Burai, heard something. You just saw a message pop up.

"Heeeeeeeeey!" A distressed cry calls to Burai's ears. He dashed forward. Perhaps it is a cry for help. Burai was sure that whatever caused the dungeon to be empty would be connected to this desperate plea.

It took him several dozen steps, but Burai managed to find someone. A trembling girl dressed in a pink and white outfit that wouldn't look too far out of the magicians Burai saw in his world.

The character's avatar definitely screamed "magical girl" to you. But you gulped. This was the first time your avatar's ever met someone else that wasn't an NPC. You knew because of the username "AKO" over her avatar.

The lady turned to Burai and whimpered out.

"My guild left me and I don't know where they went..." She said. Ah, a lost girl in the dungeon. Burai bowed before her.

"Milady, I will help you reunite with your guild. They probably won't be too far away." Burai said. The girl smiled and began to follow him as he led her across the empty dungeon. Along the way, he asked her about who she was. She said that her name was Ako and that she was a part of a guild known as the Alley Cats.

Burai journeyed with her across the dungeon... When suddenly, a troll burst out from nowhere.

"Aaaah!" Ako shrieked as you ran to her aid, casting a fireball at the monster. The troll shrugged it off as it swung its club at Burai. It hit for massive damage, but he managed to stand on his last legs, casting one final, higher level explosive fireball spell right in the troll's face. It fell down as the flames began to damage the troll beyond what its health would normally allow, thus killing the monster. Burai, however, fell down.

"Burai!" Ako ran over then proceeded to hold her staff over him.

You liked how this random stranger you just met healed you from the troll and you decided to write up a bit of a story where Burai nearly died in the battle...

Burai could see a powerful white light as he fell to the ground. However, before he could go over to it, a pink light flashed over his body and he awoke back in the dungeon with a crying Ako over him.
