Ashton couldn't fall asleep that night. He looked over to his right, peeking through the never ending pile of soft cushions to find Luna sleeping peacefully.

She looked so calm, unlike the times she is fully conscious. Her lips parted slightly, hair messed up yet in place somehow and soft breathing radiated a sense of comfort. His lips twitched to form an unknowing smile.

He looked away, now staring at his sleeping friend. Every time he looked at him, he felt sorry. He felt guilty. He obviously had no idea about how long this was going to continue but he wished he could get him out of this soon.

He sighed, turning to look to his extreme left where he found a figure. He gasped and flinched on the spot when he found the little boy from earlier standing there, still. Staring st him, not making a single sound.

Ashton stared back with widened eyes at the little boy at the door in bewilderment.
"What...happened?" He whispered.

The boy didn't say a word but walked towards him. There was an uncomfortable silence for a minute but it soon ended when Ashton asked the kid to sit next to him.

"Who are you guys?" The kid asked, looking up at the elder.

"Are you scared of us?" He questioned back without answering, earning a nod from the boy.

"I saw someone like you in the news. Will you hurt me?" His little voice rang in his ears for a longer time than expected.

So the boy knew.

"Did you tell your mom and dad?" He asked, gently ruffling the child's hair.

He shook his head as a no, flashing a wide smile right after.
"I didn't want you getting in trouble."

Ashton couldn't help but grin at the younger's words. He was too pure for this world. Too naive. He couldn't help but think he was taking advantage of the little kid. Which he truly was.

However, the gratitude he felt towards the boy overcame his insecurities and guilts.

"What's your name?" Ashton found himself asking almost instinctively.

"Davis."

"And who's this?" The kid asked, pointing towards the sleeping figure of Wesley.

"That's my best friend."

"And this?" He pointed towards Luna with a pout, leaving Ashton silent.

Now he never thought of it. She wasn't a friend, but not a stranger either. What was she?

"Well, I'm not sure. She is the strongest person in this group though. Don't mess with her." He earned a little chuckle from the boy at that.

They talked and talked, the two not having the mood to sleep the night away.

...

It was the next day and the car ride continued. They had taken their leave from the cozy place, bidding their goodbyes and thanking them a ton.

Wesley drove, Luna sat next to him on the passenger seat while Ashton slept in the backseat like a log.

The sunrise was quite prominent, having happened minutes ago. The sky was glimmering in shades of yellows and oranges and blues, the sun appearing steadily through the canopies of the tree studded forest they were crossing.

"Why's he sleeping right now? We literally got up two hours ago." Luna asked, amused.

Wesley shrugged.
"Probably didn't sleep all night. He does that sometimes." He replied shortly after in a nonchalant tone.
