Regret

"Severus..." Narcissa moaned into his ear, one hand gripping his hair, the other keeping her balance on his chest

His body responded quickly to her desire, taking her lips in his. He remembered all the times they had met before, quick and hushed. Worry and fear that they may be found. But this time, there wasn't that fear. He found himself swimming in comfort. Comfort in her body, in her knowledge of him, in her promise of solidarity.

Wrapping his arms around her, he rolled them over, body pressing hers into the soft mattress. No one would think him to be a proficient lover. But he knew what it was to be cold and alone, and it didn't take a genius to do the opposite of that. Tracing her graceful neck with his tongue, he bit down on her shoulder, a bit of rough control.

"I know what you like..." he whispered back, pinning her wrists down as he made his way down her body

She grinned, hair splayed across the pillow as she allowed him to pleasure her, long fingers massaging his scalp as his tongue teased her insides, a final flick causing her body to arch and shake.

"On your back" she demanded, nipped at his ear, devilish grin on her sharp features

He settled back against his pillows, taking a deep enjoyment in watching a woman of such fortitude lay out her body for him and bring him over the edge so skillfully. They were a powerhouse and he wished things could have been different. But they both knew what their lives had to be now.

"I've missed that" Narcissa settled in beside him, the blazing white of a fresh fallen snow breaking in through his window

"So have I. I don't want to take advantage of you" he started out but she held up her hand

"We both know what this is. I'm not upset. Quite the opposite. You're one of the best men" she kissed his cheek, sitting up and cleansing herself with her wand

One of the best. He wished he could believe that. He walked into the bathroom, needing to feel the hot water on his skin. He would have his lessons with Solomon soon. The lines continually blurred in this life of farce. He didn't want to assume any position in the child's life. There were no boundaries yet nothing but boundaries all at the same time.

He walked out of the bathroom and to his horror he saw Solomon animatedly talking with Narcissa. Her face held joy for the first time in years. He knew that she was remembering Draco; her son was the only thing that she lived for during the times of war.

"Solomon, does your mother know you're here?" he asked carefully, regretting that he had taken the wards off his room before Narcissa left

"No. You missed breakfast so I brought you some toast. I didn't want to be late for our lesson" he answered, gesturing at the plate he had sat down on the desk

But he didn't have time to wonder what would happen if Aysel saw Narcissa in their home, because she entered the room as he was gathering his thoughts. When her eyes landed on Narcissa, she immediately grabbed Solomon by the collar and roughly tossed him out of the room, slamming the door while grabbing her wand out of her pocket.

"That won't be necessary" Narcissa spoke calmly, chin straight and eyes focused

"Your husband tortured me. And he enjoyed it. You are just as evil as him" Aysel kept her wand pointed, voice steady

"If you lower your wand we can discuss that. There are things you don't know" Narcissa offered, glancing at Severus, making no move to touch her wand but making certain he had his

"Oh I see. Severus is your protector now. I have no desire to discuss anything with you. Quite frankly, I really just want to curse you. Whatever punishment I receive will be worth it" Aysel threatened, eyes narrowing
