When morning came Emori was the first to wake up

When morning came Emori was the first to wake up. She found Lincoln and Octavia huddled by the burnt-out fire sleeping together and Etain was laying in a pile of sheets she had on the floor in another corner of the cabin. She looked around as they all peacefully slept and then a sudden thought popped in her head. Without overthinking it Emori grabbed all of her belongings and moved to leave, but something seemed to stop her, and she turned back to face Bellamy's sleeping figure. She walked over to him and softly placed her hand on his cheek, "You are right" she whispered and slowly bent over to place a small kiss on his cheek. With that, she finally moved to walk out the door of the cabin and began the trek that was left to Delfikru.

An hour had passed before Lincoln woke up. He looked around the cabin and when he saw no signs of Emori or her stuff he knew she had run off by herself. "Dammit," he muttered and began grabbing all his stuff and Octavia's stuff. He carefully woke Octavia up, who went to wake up Bellamy.

"She left. Why would she just leave" Lincoln heard Bellamy say from the next room.

"She's stubborn that one"  Etain muttered as she awoke from her slumber. "Did you hear her walk out" Octavia questioned as Etain laughed,  "No, I was fast asleep. Just like you".

"Ignore her. We need to leave. Emori is probably halfway to Delfikru right now, and we need to stop her before she gets herself killed" Lincoln stated as he led the way out of the cabin. Octavia followed closely behind and Bellamy gave Etain one final glance and nod in thanks before walking out the door as well.

Emori was ahead and she only hoped that her friends had stayed far behind her. She needed to do this alone and she didn't want to have them be used by the Delfikru as bait or for them to be tortured. She knew today was her final day before time runs out on Cato and she was glad she only had a few hours left in her trek.

Behind her Lincoln, Octavia, and Bellamy were definitely catching up. Lincoln knew she wouldn't leave a trail, but lucky for all of them he had previously been to Olina's village square, and knew exactly the way there.

"What if we're too late" Bellamy questioned as he followed closely behind Lincoln, who was leading the way.

"She's on a mission to kill herself Lincoln. How exactly are we going to stop that from happening" Octavia also asked from beside Bellamy.

"I don't know" Lincoln muttered as he stepped over a large tree branch.

"He doesn't know. Great, so we're just supposed to let her get tortured by those grounders" Bellamy stated in frustration.

"Bellamy it's okay we'll figure something out" Octavia stated.

"Let's just hurry up. I know a faster way there" Lincoln said as he spotted the all too familiar monument that was a few feet away. They would soon enter Delfikru territory, and then they would be closer to Emori than they knew.

Emori was close, very close. She could see the smoke in the distance and knew those were the great fires that lay in front of Olina's village. Delfikru much like Azgeda was ruled by their Queen, and even though the coalition was fought by many Olina's brother refused it to the very end. Emori never told anyone how exactly she had made it into the village if anyone asked she had snuck in because if people were to find out that she had help, Olina would become much more enraged than she already was. There would be no end to her torture and the coalition would eventually cease to exist. Emori pushed away those maddening thoughts and tried to refocus on herself again.

Love is power. Pain is reality

It was like a mantra. Emori had been repeating it to herself on and off for almost an hour and she had no clue if it was to bring her luck, courage, or just plain acceptance of her fate. She had wished she could have said her proper goodbyes with her friends, but she also knew this was definitely better than having them stop her or try to join her. It was quiet in the forest, the only sound coming from the soft crunch of leaves as she walked. Emori continued to say the phrase in her mind as a way to drown out the silence, but the silence was suddenly interrupted by a scream and Emori jumped into a fighting stance. It was the scream of pain and Emori knew exactly what was happening. Someone was getting tortured. The sound echoed through the forest as Emori suddenly began running towards it. She ran past trees, jumping over roots, and pushed herself to reach whoever it was that was screaming in pain. The screams were getting closer, but she wasn't able to reach the person because she was suddenly yanked back.

Emori landed hard on her back but had no time to feel the pain as she swiftly grabbed the knife from her holster and pushed the person that had pulled her down, placing the knife to their throat.

"Traitor" The unknown voice shouted and Emori's eyes finally focused on the figure. It was one of Olina's soldiers. He was probably patrolling the area and saw her running.

Emori narrowed her eyes at the soldier as she placed the knife harder onto his throat drawing a small amount of blood. "That may be, and I guess it's your lucky day since you get to turn in a traitor" she stated and removed the knife from his throat. The man took that as his opportunity to punch Emori in the face knocking her back onto the ground. Emori coughed and tried to suck in some air as the wind was knocked out of her and the man suddenly came into view again. "The queen will be pleased to see you, Emori Kom Skaikru" the man spat and lifted his leg delivering a swift quick to Emori's face knocking her out completely.

A few feet away Lincoln, Bellamy, and Octavia watched as the grounder tied Emori up and lifted her over his shoulder. "We can stop him he's only one" Octavia muttered as she tried to move forward to her friend, but Lincoln held her back. "Not safe, look" Lincoln mumbled as he pointed up at the trees where three archers were carefully watching the soldier take Emori away.

"We need to go in there. She needs help" Bellamy stated and Lincoln shook his head as he tried to think of a plan. "I know someone that might be able to get us in, but there is no guarantee that we can do anything now. She's about to be taken to the queen" Lincoln said as they all turned towards the direction in which Emori had been taken, all dreading the same thing.

She was going to let herself be killed.
