When morning came Bellamy was ready to head out with Maya, when Emori decided she wanted in as well.

"Bell, let me come with you," the warrior said as she moved closer to him, but Bellamy shook his head, knowing he needed Emori to stay.

"No, I need you here. Protecting them" he motioned towards the couch and Emori turned back to look at Maya's father and Fox who were both sitting conversing lowly. Emori sighed before nodding, she knew one of them needed to stay behind in case something happened, and she was the best option to stay and protect them. She turned around to walk away but stopped and squeezed her eyes shut before turning back to Bellamy, "Be careful" she muttered. Bellamy nodded and gave her a weak smile before turning around and heading out with Maya.

Her heart pounded in her chest as she watched Bellamy leave the room, and it wasn't until he was out of her sight that Emori could finally breathe. The brunette warrior sighed softly and shook her head as if to clear her thoughts before sitting down on the armchair in front of the couch.

Stupid

She needed to stop whatever it was that was happening to her, she couldn't fall for Bellamy. He was the enemy not too long ago and now she's cozying up to him without actually knowing if he could save her people from the Mountain. Thats why she needed to trust herself and focus on her mission, which involved getting her people out of the Mountain. That was her top priority, so Emori settled with looking for weapons around the room she was in. Bellamy had a gun and she needed something that would protect her as well. Plus anything to get her mind off of worrying over her people and, though she didn't want to think about it, Bellamy as well.

After an hour of searching, Emori had a metal pole, the leg of a chair, and a knife she had found in the kitchen. She had little to work with but it was enough that she could defend her self properly. She began to sharpen the leg of the chair so that it was sharp enough to stab someone with. Another hour passed and when Emori was done with her weapons she found herself talking to Fox and the life she lived back on the Ark. Emori pitied the young girl who was imprisoned by her own people and decided to speak about something else to distract her.

"When I was a little girl, my mother use to sing to me" Emori began as she began to braid the young girl's hair. Fox was curious to know about the song. For one Emori seemed like no other grounder she's seen before, and she could somehow sense this feeling of safety around her.

"What did she sing to you" Fox muttered in question and Emori inhaled quietly. She remembered the song to this day, even though she was very young it was one of the few things she tried to hold onto for as long as she could.

Stone by stone
Cracked, crushed, fallen
Beauty burned, erased
But not forgotten

I'll take your melodies
May your last breath
Fill the air with embers
