The sun was beginning to set, and Emori knew that they couldn't continue walking if they couldn't see their surroundings. So with one glance towards Lincoln, they both knew they needed to find a safe place to settle down before it was completely dark outside.

Octavia and Bellamy walked side by side as they watched the two grounders move swiftly; eyes focused on their surroundings. Suddenly Lincoln stopped walking and pointed towards what looked like a hidden cave.

"We should rest here," he said and Emori nodded before following after him. They hadn't spoken about their previous fight, and even Octavia and Bellamy could feel the rigid tension in the air. It was clear that Lincoln was upset with Emori and though she wanted to talk to her best friend and apologize she couldn't find the right words to say. He didn't want her to give up and thought she needed to pay for all the damage she had caused to so many people.

The small group walked into the cave making sure that no one was watching them and after Lincoln and Emori surveyed the cave to make sure it was safe, they all settled in. Octavia sat with Lincoln, who opted to sit as far away from Emori as possible and Emori decided to sit near the entrance of the cave. She brought her knees to her chest as she faced away from Lincoln and Octavia and even Bellamy, who sat closer to her but decided to give her some space.

Some time passed and night had completely taken over the sky when Emori suddenly felt a presence next to her and she turned to see Bellamy settling himself near her. She tried to ignore the way her heartbeat suddenly increased and faced the entrance of the cave again.

"Hey" Bellamy sighed out as he glanced at her before also turning to look out of the cave.

"Hey" she muttered softly her eyes not straying from their spot.

"Listen. I know you have your mindset on not fighting, but I think you somehow got into your head that you have to suffer for everything that you've done. Em who we are and who we need to be to survive are two very different things." Bellamy stated determinedly and Emori only shook her head in defiance and scoffed.

"And when does it stop Bellamy. When do we stop surviving? My whole life all I have known is survival. I have lived every waking moment doing things to survive, to help my people survive, and I no longer feel justified for the pain I have caused. So you're wrong. Who we are and who we need to be to survive are not different, they are us. They become ingrained into our very souls Bell, and the people that we once were are gone. All that's left is the people we are now, the ones still surviving, still killing."  Emori said as she turned to look at Bellamy, and when she saw his faraway look she looked away letting him think and process her words.

Bellamy thought about her words in silence and he did find truth in them, the journey from before The 100 to now had completely changed him. What he did in Mount Weather and everything he did to protect his sister had become a part of him. He was no longer the old Bellamy from the Ark, and he knew he would continue to survive if it meant helping his people and protecting his sister.
