Baji Kohaku P.O.V.

In the end I spend the festival with my Uncle, Aunt and Yua. It was too early after the break up to be seen with Ran. As we walk to the exit, I carry Yua, who is sleeping with her head against my shoulder. "What kind of sweets do you like, Kohaku?" I look up at my uncle, who is smiling at me. When uncle is not wearing his glasses, he looks quite a lot like me and Keisuke... but then twenty years older, and with short, neatly cut hair. "Sweets?" I ask, a little surprised. "Yeah, you've been so nice to Yua the whole day, carrying her around and winning her prizes. I want to buy you something" Uncle says. "Oh. That's not necessary" I say awkwardly. "Of course, come on. Tell me what you like" Uncle says, patting my shoulder. "Well, alright. I like candied strawberries" I say. "Alright. We'll be right over there buying it, and something for Yua. Wait here for us alright?" Uncle asks. I nod want watch him walk to the festival stall with Auntie. Yua moans softly, so I softly start to cradle her but she's fast asleep. "Kohaku...?" I look up to see Mitsuya, with Mikey, Draken, Takemichi, Emma and Hinata. I immediately feel uncomfortable. "Hey.." I mumble. "You've been avoiding us.." Draken says. "I have" I say. "You don't really think that Toman caused Baji's death, do you?" Takemichi asks. "I don't know what to think" I say annoyed. "Everything alright here?" I hear my uncles voice beside me, and feel his hand on my shoulder, but only look up when I see the confused faces of the people in front of me. Guess we really look alike. "Everything is alright" Mitsuya says. "Alright..." he says, looking at them distrustful. "Let's go" he says softly, then turns me slightly and pulls me with him to the festival stall where Auntie is waiting. I take one last sad look at Mitsuya before turning my back to them. "Everything alright?" Auntie asks, as she takes the plastic bag from the vendor and thanks him. "Yeah" I say softly. "Who where they?" Uncle asks. "Keisuke's friends. Can we go home?" I ask. "Yeah we're going" Uncle says, giving a slight squeeze in my shoulder. "Want me to take her?" He then asks. "It's alright. Unless you want to?" I ask. Uncle laughs. "It's alright, I usually carry her, go right ahead" he says as he starts walking toward the exit.

I walk down the stairs when I hear my Aunt and Uncle talk. "...He's not stupid, Genji. He looks more like you every day. You should tell him" Auntie says. "Kasumi made it so that I'm the boys' uncle, so that I could finish my degree and we could build a life together, Yuriko. I'm not going against her wishes now that she's dead" Uncle says. "Doesn't he have enough to deal with right now?" He asks. "Are you protecting him, or yourself?" Auntie asks, annoyed. I walk down the rest of the stairs a little louder. "I'm off" I shout. Uncle pops his head out of the living room. "Where are you off to?" He asks. "Ran, the neighbor" I say, putting on my shoes. "Alright. Be home by ten" he says. "Ten?" I ask. Uncle smiles amused. "Yeah, you have school in the morning. Nice try. Home by ten" he says winking. I roll my eyes. "Alright. See you later" I say, walking out. It's cold so I quickly walk out and over to Ran's house. It doesn't take him long to open the door after I rang the bell. "Welcome" he says smiling, stepping aside to let me in. As soon as my shoes are off, he takes my hand and pulls me upstairs. As soon as the door to his bedroom is closed behind me, he pulls me toward him and kisses me. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss back. I close my eyes as our tongues dance. "Hmm you taste so sweet" Ran mumbles, after a small nibble on my lower lip. "I just ate candied strawberries" I whisper. "Hmm" he mumbles, slipping his hands into the back pockets of my jeans before kissing me again. "I'm still bummed you didn't went with me" Ran says, playfully biting my ear. "I promised Yua.." I say softly. "How are you going to make it up to me?" Ran whispers. "How do you want me to?" I ask. Ran grins but I shake my head. "Not yet. You have to deserve that first" I say. "Do I now?" He whispers, pressing a trail of kisses down my jawline and neck. "Yeah" I breathe. "Hm alright, I'll wait" Ran says, looking at me. "But I'm going to make it so you can't have or want anyone else but me for the rest of your life" he grins. I scoff. "Good luck" I say.

I look at the drawing of Yua I'm working on, then glance at my watch. I sigh softly before I start packing up. "You're not staying as long as you used to.." I hear Mitsuya's voice at the doorway. "My commute is longer... and because of Yua, we eat on time." I say, but then look up at him. "How are you?" Mitsuya asks. "I've been better...you?" I ask. "Same.." Mitsuya smiles slightly. "I didn't know you were with your dad the other day.." Mitsuya says. I tilt my head slightly. "That's not my dad...that's my uncle" I say. Mitsuya raises his eyebrows slightly. "Really? My bad.." He says. I shrug and close my bag. "Draken and Mikey really like to talk to you" Mitsuya says. "I will, when I'm ready. I'm grieving more than one loss Takashi-kun" I say, looking at him. "I'd just like to get some room to work through it. It's not like I suddenly stopped caring for them als my friends" I add. "I just..need some time for myself" I say. Mitsuya nods slightly. "Alright I'll tell them" he says softly. I sigh softly and lift my bag onto my shoulder. "I have to go" I say, hesitantly walking toward the doorway. "I can give you a ride" Mitsuya says, smiling slightly. "Tempting. But it's not the best idea" I say. Mitsuya softly grabs my wrist. "I miss you" he says. "I know...but it's best if you forget about me.." I say softly. "Have you found your high school already?" Mitsuya asks and I nod. "I got in as well, how about you?" I say, I smile slightly. "I'm happy for you" Mitsuya says softly. "Thanks" I say, as I softly pull my wrist from his hand. "Which school?" Mitsuya asks. "I really have to go, Takashi-kun." I say. "I'll see you around.." I say as I start to walk away. "Can you promise me something?" Mitsuya asks. I turn slightly to look at him. "Don't go out with Haitani Ran" he says. I frown slightly, then turn to walk away without answering. I sigh softly, rubbing the back of my neck. I'm sorry.. Takashi-kun. But I'm doing this for you.. I sigh deeply but hurry toward the subway.
