Baji Kohaku P.O.V.
"You are a hard man to find" I hear behind me in line of my favorite coffeeshop. I don't have to teach today, but still wanted to go out for a bit, roam around. Get inspiration. I turn slightly to see Matsuno Chifuyu behind me. I thank the barista as she hands me my to go cup. "I don't think I am, why would you want to find me?" I ask. Chifuyu nods slightly to the door and I walk with him. "You know" he sighs as we're outside. "Because the anniversary of Baji-sans death was the other day. And I was just talking to Kazutora and I remembered how worried he always was about you, so I wanted to know how you were doing" Chifuyu says. "Kazutora huh?" I say softly, looking away from him. "You know he got out a while back right?" Chifuyu asks. "Yeah I know." I sigh. "So you still don't want to talk to me huh?" I hear behind me. I turn around to see Kazutora. He seems different. His hair is longer and black, with two blonde locks around his face. "What is this? Some kind of ambush?" I ask. "It wasn't meant to be. You aren't supposed to even be here" Chifuyu says, looking at Kazutora. "I was just passing by" Kazutora answers. "Seems like a premeditated plan" I say, before taking a sip of my coffee. Chifuyu hesitates and then sighs. "I was planning on asking you if you'd be ready to talk to Kazutora again" he says. "But not like this I swear" he adds. I glance at Kazutora. "I'm not sure that I am" I say softly. "Let's not do this here" I say, looking around and then start walking. "I don't really know what there is to talk about. My brother is dead and he's not coming back" I look at Kazutora. "Which is your fault" I add. "I can't change what I did in the past" Kazutora says. "But I am trying to make amends. I regret deeply what I did, because he was my best friend. My mind just didn't react the way it should" he says. "I know better now. I am better. I hope I can earn your forgiveness. I know Baji would've wanted that" Kazutora says. "How would you know?" I scoff. "He stabbed himself for my sake, didn't he?" Kazutora asks. This would've been much easier, if he didn't grow up to be this handsome.
I stare at my canvas which is still empty. It's been going so well lately. Why don't I have any inspiration. "You alright?" I look up after hearing Mitsuya's voice. "I'm not sure" I answer. "Why is that?" He asks as he sits down at his desk. "I can't think of anything" I say. "You've been painting and drawing all the time lately. It's okay if you don't." Mitsuya says. "I'm not good at sitting still" I say. "It creates different kind of problems" I add. "Why don't you prepare something for your lessons or your students?" Mitsuya asks. "Yeah, perhaps" I say, tapping my pencil against my chin. At the same time I start scratching my knee. "Do you want to go to a meeting?" Mitsuya asks softly. So Ran told him. Of course he did. "No" I answer. "Do you have a sponsor?" He asks. "No. Uncle had me quit cold turkey" I say. "You need to have a talk with him?" Mitsuya asks. "I'm fine" I say. I look at him and smile. "You don't have to worry. I am in control. I have too much to lose right now" I say. Mitsuya smiles slightly. "I'm sorry." He says. "There's nothing to be sorry about" I shrug. "I was surprised though, when Ran told me" Mitsuya says. "It's not something to be surprised about. I have a history of making the wrong choices" I say. "Well.." Mitsuya says, obviously not knowing what to say. "You know Kazutora got out a while back?" I ask. "I know." Mitsuya says, and his smile is nostalgic. "Did you see him?" I ask. "I have" he answers. This time I stay silent for a bit. "He wants to meet for coffee or lunch or something" I sigh. "I was wondering why he was asking if I knew how to contact you" Mitsuya says as he scratches his jaw. "What did you tell him?" I ask. "Well, it was before you were back in my life, so I told him the truth. That I hadn't seen you in ages and that I didn't have your contact info" Mitsuya says. "Did you see him?" He adds. "I ran into him and Chifuyu the other day. He asked, and gave me his contact info. I don't know what to do" I say. "Well take your time to think about it" Mitsuya says with a smile.
I hate that both Ran, and Mitsuya have a way to make thousands of butterflies, fly in my stomach. To make me feel al warm inside. "There's still something about an empty classroom, isn't there?" Mitsuya asks, as he looks around. "Yeah. I still enjoy these silences before, and after classes" I say, leaning against my desk. "Thank you, you didn't have to do this" I say. "Don't be silly. I wanted to" Mitsuya says, and sends me that smile, that gives me all those feelings. "I started out here also, you know" he says. I smile slightly. "What's wrong?" Mitsuya asks. "Oh" I shrug. "I was feeling a bit nostalgic, but it was the best, and worst time of my life" I say. Before Mitsuya can say anything the bell rings. He leans beside me against the desk, but so that the students will see me first. Yua is the first, walking in yawning. "Ohayo, Oniichan." She says, her posse behind her. I always give her one a day, especially when I'm her first class. She looks up when her posse, and the other students that are walking in, starts gasping. She gasps too. "Taka-nii?!" She says. Immediately her classmates stare her. "Good morning, Yua-chan. Look at you, all grown up" Mitsuya says. "You've got to be kidding me" a girl hisses. "Alright, settle down" I say as the second bell rings, and get up to close the door. "As you've all no doubt saw, I brought a guest lecturer with me today" I say. "My.." I hesitate. "Very good friend" I say. Again that smile. "But judging from your reactions, he doesn't need an introduction" I say amused. Almost all students are on the edge of their seats. I walk back to my desk. "They're all yours" I say amused. "Well thank you" Mitsuya says as he takes my place in front of the class. "So. Before I start the class, you have 5 minutes to ask me anything" he says. Immediately all hands shoot in the air. "Are you dating anyone?" A girl ask. "I am, sorry" Mitsuya says amused. Yua looks at me, and I wink, making her grin. The other questions almost all are about his career, and as he starts his lecture, he explains that he started out making toys for his sister which soon turned into a school club. As they all watch him in admiration, I can't help but do the same.
