Baji Kohaku P.O.V.

When I get home, I was hoping to be alone but both Ran and Mitsuya are there. I was avoiding them a little bit, to give them a space to sort out their feelings, what Mitsuya was telling me about. And the other day I heard them having sex and I feel a bit awkward about it. "Where did you go all morning?" Mitsuya asks. "Had some errands to run" I answer. A little lie but that's okay. Ran is still in his pajama pants and it seems like he just woke op. "I feel like I haven't seen you at all lately" Ran says, leaning his cheek on his hand. "If that's true, it wasn't on purpose. I'm just kind of a loner. I'm used to being by myself" I say, I sit down on a barstool beside him. Mitsuya puts a cup of tea in front of me, and a coffee in front of Ran before leaning against the counter on the other side of the bar. "You're not avoiding us, are you?" Ran asks, stroking my hair behind my ear. Why does he always see right through me?! "Why would I do that?" I ask, leaning my chin on my hand. "We didn't just meet yesterday Kohaku" Mitsuya says, with a slightly amused undertone in his voice. "Hmm" I mumble, looking down at my tea. "Well you said you needed a bit to sort things out" I say, without looking up. "Well yeah, but that doesn't mean that you have to avoid us." Mitsuya chuckles. "Hmm" I mumble again. Ran chuckles. "You really haven't changed much, have you?" He asks. I look at him. "I'm not sure if that's a compliment or an insult" I say.  "It's not een insult" Ran says, standing up. Suddenly he's very close and he leans his elbow on the bar. "Something happened to you, these past years" he says. "What makes you think that?" I ask, hiding my nerves. "There's something in your eyes" Ran says. "And he will open up about it when he's ready, don't force it out Ran" Mitsuya says. "Hmm" Ran says. He presses a kiss on my cheek and walks away. "I'm going to take a shower" he says as he walks up the stairs. Mitsuya looks at me. "If he really wants to know, he's going to find out" Mitsuya says softly.

My life has gotten better ever since moving in with Ran and Mitsuya. My art is being sold again, and even though there's still a lot of confusion, it's better. I look around the empty classroom and chuckle slightly. "There's still something about an empty classroom" I mumble as I write my name on the board. Uncle helped me get this job. Not that I really need the money with my art being sold and living with Mitsuya and Ran. But it does provide a more stable lifestyle, which I need right now. The door is slightly opened so I can hear the students coming this way. I'm pretty nervous. Not because I took a teaching job, but because my first ever class, is Yua's. For the next three years I'll be her art teacher. "Did you hear? They say that the new art teacher is a total hotty" I hear a girl say, and smile as I sit down on a high stool. "Do they? I wonder about that. How many art teacher are really hot huh? I bet that it's an old fart" I hear Yua say, and then the door opens. Revealing my younger half sister and a couple of her friends beside her. "I'd almost take offense in that" I say amused. Yua blinks surprised and her friends blush heavily. "Oniichan?" She asks surprised. "Oniichan?!" Her friends shout. "It's Baji-sensei in here please, Yua-chan. Or Kohaku-sensei if it's too awkward." I say, then smile. "And please go to your seats, you're blocking the entrance" I add. Yua and her friends immediately move to the front row. "What's the deal Yua-chan" some classmates of her complain. I smile and greet the students as they enter, then close the door by the second bell. "Starting today I will be your new art teacher, my name is Baji Kohaku" I say. "Besides this job, I still make a living as an artist, selling my pieces so you will see me work on them in here sometimes" I say. "One last thing I'd like to address before I'll start the class" I say, I glance at Yua and groaning she hides her face in her arms. "I know how high school works, and before the rumors start to spread; yes it is true that Yua-chan is my younger sister. But it will not affect her grade whatsoever" I say. "That's just cruel, Oniichan" she groans. I smile amused. "Let's start" I say.

I turn the corner on my way home, when I see Ran standing with Rindou and some guy at a car. At first I don't think much of it and continue to walk toward the building. But when I get close I see him, and I recognize him. I immediately freeze and feel like I can't breathe. He sees me as well and grins widely. "Hisashiburi, Kohaku-chan" he says. The way he says my name  almost makes me hyperventilate. "H-hi" I finally say after a while. "I've been looking for you. Where have you been?" He asks. Ran looks at the guy, then at me. He frowns slightly. "Why don't you head on inside. I'll be up soon" Ran says. "Oh you know Kohaku-chan? Why didn't you tell me, I've been looking for him for a long time" the guy says. "Hmm? I do. For over a decade now I think. I don't see a reason why I should tell you that I knew him" Ran says as I walk inside. When I'm in the elevator, I'm not even able to put in the code as panic overwhelms me. With one hand I grab the railing that's on the elevator wall behind me, and with the other I grab my chest as I hyperventilate. I close my eyes as the memories flood back. Somehow it's all gone when I feel Ran's presence beside me. He stays silent until I'm fully calm, and then puts in the code. "I know him. And I know what he does" Ran says after a while. "And given your reaction after seeing him, it's not hard for me to figure out what happened" Ran says. Uncomfortable I start scratching my neck. "Why didn't you tell me?" Ran asks softly. I look up at me and see his face filled with sadness. Which hurts me. "How could I tell you something like that? I'm so ashamed. How could I be such a fool?" I ask. Ran pulls me toward him and I lean against him. "You did nothing wrong but trust the wrong guy" he says. "You've got nothing to be ashamed of" Ran adds. "And now that I know, you don't have to be afraid anymore" he says. "What are you going to do?" I ask. "It doesn't matter, my love" Ran says, before kissing me.
