I inhale deeply as Rindou and I step out of the hostess bar under our jurisdiction. "What's next?" I ask, searching my pockets for my cigarettes. "Akari brothel" Rindou says dryly and I pull a face. "What? At least we have the one with pretty women" Rindou says grinning. "Yes, but brothels smell" I say. Rindou laughs as we start walking. "Yeah that's true" he says. We reach Akari brothel quickly. "I'm sorry little girl, you're just too young for us right now" I hear the desk guy say as the door opens. Curiously I look at the girl. "Yua-chan?" I ask surprised. She immediately grows pale as she sees me. "You know this girl boss?" The gorgeous woman in sexy lingerie next to the desk guy asks, over sexualizing her voice for me and Rindou. "Yes. This is my lovers little sister. What are you doing here Yua-chan?" I ask smirking. Yua tries to dash out but I grab her arm before she can. "She tried to apply for work" the woman says and Yua blushes. "Can you bring us an espresso and a soda?" I ask, nodding at the office. The desk guy nods as I pull Yua into the office. "Tell me, what are you doing here?" I ask, sitting down in the big chair. Yua seems distracted by the screens showing the cameras inside and outside of the rooms. I smirk as I light a cigarette. "I didn't know this was yours" Yua mumbles embarrassed.  "Most of the brothels and hostess bars around here are, sweet cheeks" I say, smirking as I blow out a cloud of smoke. "But that wasn't an answer" I add. "I needed some quick cash without my parents finding out" she says. "Why not ask your brother?" I ask. "My dad can't find out about it" Yua says desperately. I don't respond for a while. "You do know what you have to do around here, to earn money right?" I ask. Yua blushes. "I do. But I don't care." She says. I sigh. "Hostess bars and brothels aren't places to get quick cash. A large portion of the money you earn, won't ever be yours. Don't apply for a job like this. You know word gets to me easy" I say, grabbing a business card from my pocket. "I'll give you the money you need, and call mee whenever you need some" I say, sliding the card to Yua. "I won't tell anyone, I just need to know why you need it" I add.

I turn my face toward the water stream of the shower. I sigh deeply closing my eyes. I love this house and this bathroom. Especially this shower. I love Kohaku and the life we have. Do I have to keep this a secret from him? I turn off the shower before opening my eyes. I sigh again and turn around. Kohaku smiles as he's waiting with a towel in his hand. "I warmed it for you" he says as I open up the shower cabin. "Thank you" I say, stepping onto the bath mat, and let Kohaku put the warmed towel around me. "You seem troubled today" Kohaku says as I take the towel in my hands and dry my face before tying it around my hips. "Nothing gets past you, does it?" I ask smiling. Kohaku doesn't respond and just smiles. I place my hands on his face before kissing him. "I wasn't sure if I should tell you, but you are my partner so I will" I say, stroking his lower lip with my thumb before letting go. "I found Yua at one of our brothels this afternoon. She was trying to apply for a job" I say, leaning my hand on the sink. "At the brothel?!" Kohaku asks shocked. "My staff refused and then I took her with me for a talk" I say. "She said she needed to make some money fast, without her parents finding out and that's why she didn't come to you as well" I add. Kohaku seems disappointed. "I gave her the money she needed and warned her not to try to apply for this kinds of jobs again, because I would know" I say. Kohaku sighs and wraps his arms around my waist. "Thank you" he mumbles. "Of course" I say, pressing my lips against his forehead. "She said she needed it for a debt" I say. "What can I do?" Kohaku asks. "Nothing. I promised not to tell anyone" I say, softly stroking his cheek. "But I'll keep an eye on her, and get her out of the trouble she's in" I say. Kohaku looks at me frowning. "So I'm a failure of a big brother now too" he whispers. "You're not" I say shushing. "Trust me you're not baby. I'm here" I say, stroking his cheek.

Gasping I sit up. There's a cooling pad on my forehead and I'm tucked in under a blanket on the couch. "Whoa, calm down. You've got a pretty high fever" Mitsuya says, pushing me back down. "I'm home?" I ask sighing. "You are. You passed out in the car. Luckily Rindou was driving, he brought you home" he says. "What are you doing?" I ask, pulling my head away as I feel something at my ear. "Taking your temperature. Calm down." Mitsuya says, he strokes my hair aside. "Why at my ear?" I ask. "It's the most accurate. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you, you know that" Mitsuya says in a soothing tone. After a little beep, Mitsuya takes the machine. "That's high. You're not going anywhere. You've got to take better care of yourself Ran. Sleep and healthy food is important" Mitsuya says. "I'm sorry" I mumble. He sighs as he looks at me. "Don't worry about it. I know you work hard" Mitsuya says, placing his cold fingers against my cheek. "Kohaku should be home any minute with medicine and groceries to get some soup and porridge inside of you. You should feel a lot better after that. I'll go make you some tea" Mitsuya says. He bends over, presses a kiss on my forehead and walks away. "Tadaima" Kohaku says when I hear the front door. I close my eyes, feeling much more relieved and at ease. "Hey there" Kohaku says, when I feel his hands on my face softly. I shrug. Kohaku chuckles and the sound makes my heart flutter. "You'll be alright. You've just been working too hard." Kohaku says and presses a kiss on my forehead and a few on my cheek. "Let me take care of you instead of the other way around huh?" He says softly. "It's my job" I say, smiling slightly. "It's also mine. Try to get some sleep" Kohaku says, he pats my chest and is about to walk away when I grab his wrist. "Don't leave me alone" I say softly. "You're not alone sweetheart, I'll be just in the kitchen." Kohaku says. I don't respond and just look at him. Kohaku sighs, smiles and sits down next to me. "I'll stay until you fall asleep. Then I have to make your food." Kohaku winks, leans his arm on the backrest of the couch and softly strokes my cheek. "You're safe here you know" he whispers.
