By the time school had started again, Jisung still hadn't heard from Minho. Since their last hangout and the following phone call during which Jisung had told Minho he wanted to hang out again and Minho had practically broken Jisung's heart, the two hadn't spoken or texted a word.
Of course Jisung had informed Seungmin who had attempted to soothe his best friend by suggesting that Minho might have been embarrassed or too shy to meet with Jisung again after that specific incident by the river - but Jisung didn't believe in that. He was convinced that Minho simply didn't like him and after all actually liked Hyebin. On the first day of school, Jisung dragged himself through the hallways, on his way to his first class of the day - English class.
The boy dreaded the conception of his timetable at least now.Seungmin, who was walking silently alongside him, assisted him in keeping an eye out for Minho - in case Jisung decided to hide away.
However, once their class would start, he wouldn't have any way out as his seat was right behind Minho's.
Oh, how Jisung hated himself for liking someone he had to see everyday - and was a boy.«You good?» Seungmin turned to face Jisung as they sat down at their table, Minho and Changbin had yet to arrive.
The brunet only nodded, leaning back in his chair, and fearing the moment Minho would enter the classroom.
«What if he says something?» He glanced at Seungmin worriedly, expecting a solid solution to his fictitious problem, however Seungmin's response wasn't what he wanted to hear.
«Then you answer.» The younger shrugged, his gaze shifting to where the door was in just that moment. Jisung followed his gaze, only to discover that Minho and Changbin had just entered the classroom. And much to Jisung's displeasure, his and Minho's eyes met immediately. The older wasn't exactly showing off any emotions through his expression, making Jisung wonder what he was thinking.
Did he perhaps feel sorry for ghosting Jisung for almost two whole weeks? Or did he just not care and randomly made eye contact with Jisung? To his own surprise, Jisung didn't avert his gaze, watching Minho's every move as he walked to his seat and sat down, not turning around when Changbin did to talk to Seungmin. So Jisung just stared at Minho's back until the teacher eventually started the lesson, ignoring Seungmin and Changbin chat next to him.
Throughout the whole lesson Jisung was unable to concentrate. His mind was constantly occupied by Minho, and he cursed himself for allowing him. He just couldn't stop thinking about just what Minho's intentions were or had been. Everything that he thought of didn't make sense. Minho's behavior didn't make sense.
The brunet crossed his arms in front of his chest and returned his attention to their teacher talking about the US elections, only to have it snatched away again by a hand placing something on his desk in front of him. His eyes didn't even catch Minho's face because he had already turned back around
Jisung glanced at the small piece of paper that had appeared in front of him, folded neatly. He blinked, undecided on whether to open it or act sulky and throw it away.
That was when his best friend nudged him with his elbow, subtly nodding towards the little note, asking Jisung to read it.
