A little before midnight, Reina entered Pop's, with only one thing in her mind.
"Hey, Pops, can I get a coffee milkshake?"
The old man gave her a sweet smile and nodded, her dark orbs looking down at the menu while biting her lower lip before she continued.
"And a bacon cheeseburger, please" with a winning smile.
Okay, maybe there were two things in her mind, then.
The old man chuckled softly and nodded once again, saying that he would soon take it to her table before he went inside the kitchen.
Her eyes looked around, observing the place, a couple here and there, some bulldogs, who clearly didn't have clothes other than the versify jacket of the team and a guy with a beanie, furiously typing on his laptop.
Finding an empty table by the corner, the brunette sat down and closed her eyes, the idea of having sometime alone bringing a small smile to her lips before it fell as she heard people coming near her.
Clenching her jaw in annoyance, Reina opened an eye to see who was the unfortunate soul, identifying the blondie she had beaten up before with other three guys by his side.
It seemed like they were in the football team as well.
"Is this place empty?" Blondie questioned looking at her, but sat down before she could even answer, making his friends follow after him as they all sat in the booth in front of the Lodge.
"Yes!" Reina exclaimed, making the blonde smirk, before she continued "And this one will be as well now that you've sat" while pointing at where she was sitting.
"Don't be like that, honey, we quite lovely company, right boys?"
It seems like the annoyance stamped on her face wasn't answer enough for him, because he continued.
"We just wanted to... congratulate you on joining the team"
Reina stood up and started to walk towards the boy with a beanie, leaving the other three staring at her as they shouted "Hey, where are you going?"
"Sorry, I'd love to stay and chat, but this conversation was boring me to death and my survival instincts were kicking" her voice was strong and loud enough to everyone turn around and stare at them, but she paid them no mind and sat down once again in front of the loner.
Jughead stared at her as if she had two heads while Reina took out her phone, sending a message to her twin, telling her where she was, before she finally met his curious brown eyes.
"Did you just walk out in the middle of a conversation?" The boy deduced as he looked towards the place she had previously been.
Her lips tugged upwards into a smirk and she nodded.
"If I continued there, I would kill commit homicide or suicide, couldn't let that happen, right?"
Pursing his lips together, the boy nodded and looked around once again, seeing multiple empty places where she could have gone instead of his table.
"Why are you sitting here?"
"I'm using you, obviously" the Lodge answered as if it was the dumbest question in the world, making him raise an eyebrow intrigued, before she continued explaining.
"Sitting here, no one, besides you, will bother me, which means that right now you might just be my invisibility cloak"
Jughead contemplated her words, before the corner of his lips tugged upwards in a small smirk.
"And what do I gain from sharing my cloak?"
Her eyes quickly scanned the table, seeing the multiple cups and the empty plate of what she supposed was once full of fries, before extending her hand towards him with a smirk of her own.
"Unlimited access to food"
"You got yourself a deal, ms..."
Reina's smirk widened as he shook her hand, signaling for Pop's to bring another of what he had, before she responded "Reina Lodge, pleasure I'm sure"
"Jughead Jones"
"So... where are you from, JJ?"
Jughead scowled at the nickname, but she only laughed at his expression, before he answered.
"Here and there"
"What are you doing?" She asked, pointing at his laptop with her perfectly manicured finger.
"This and that"
His eyes went back to the screen of his laptop and he started typing again, ignoring the frown that was now painted on her beautiful features.
"You ever-"
"Now and then"
"Wow... You're just full of information, JJ, this is what I call an open book"
And Jughead's eyes left the screen that was telling his story, quickly following to her annoyed expression, making him grin at her.
Their food arrived and Jughead stared at his milkshake then at hers, pursing his lips before he questioned.
"What if we mix the milkshakes?"
Reina frowned and looked at his, trying to figure out which flavor he had chosen... mint chocolate chip.
"Do you really think it's a good idea?"
"Nope"
"Good, I'd be concerned if you did... but hey, by all means, let's try it!"
