"Are you sure we can't just skip it?" Reina questioned as soon as they got to the school grounds, annoyance written on her face as she looked towards the place, making Cheryl look at her in curiosity.
"You're aware that you're the one that asked me out and not the other way, right?" The ginger's voice had a light teasing tone, making the brunette smirk as she looked at her from the corner of her eyes.
"I did ask you out, I'm just saying that we could find a better place" sighing softly, Reina left the car and walked towards Cheryl's side, opening the door for the female as she held her hand to help her out.
"After you, ma'am" the Lodge heir added with a wink, making the ginger turn a soft pink before she recomposed herself and responded "Aren't you a gentlewoman?"
"Siempre, princesa"
After adjusting her dress, Reina offered her hand for Cheryl to take so they could go inside and saw the hint of hesitation on the ginger's face, making her raise an eyebrow in a questioning manner.
The Blossom's face turned emotionless in a matter of seconds, losing the smile that had been there through the entire drive as she cleared her throat and finally answered.
"Thank you for the ride, I should go now"
And with that she was gone, leaving the elder Lodge twin behind quite confused for a few moments, before the sound of her phone ringing caught her attention.
"Cariño?"
"Mi alma, are you okay? I saw Cheryl and couldn't find you anywhere"
The panicked voice of her twin made her heart clench with guilt, quickly walking inside the building and looking for her other half, who was looking around and completely ignoring the words of a certain woman on the stage.
A music started to play when she finally got to Veronica, twirling her twin around to look at her and seeing the relief appearing on her face as they started to dance just like the old times.
"Hey... I was worried that something had happened" Veronica mumbled, holding tightly on Reina.
"I'm fine, cariño, was just taking some air outside" It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't completely true as well... they both knew that.
"Weren't you coming with Cheryl?" Vee questioned with a puzzled look on her face, making Rei shrug.
"I did, she didn't want to enter with me though"
The twins were silent for a moment, before Veronica frowned and wondered out loud "Do you think she..."
"... Oh"
The youngest twin smiled at the look of realization on her twin's face, it was true that Rei was better in some things, but human emotions were certainly not on that category.
Rei had never openly talked to her parents about her sexual orientation and they were fine with that, it wasn't something discussed on the dinner, but rather a 'I have a job for you, don't mess up' kind of thing, if she did her thing, they did theirs and they were good doing whatever they wanted.
